Not much I can say that hasn't been said already, except that Frederick has practically all of the things that a team requires in a center, including all the intangibles that make a guy worthy of being an all-pro. Granted, he doesn't run the niftiest 40 yard dash but somehow, he still manages to block LBs pretty much by the book. Maybe "want to" has a lot to do with it.

His spot-on intellect also allows him to call o-line play in a manner that most other centers only wish they could. In short, Travis is the Cowboys' ace in the hole at the center spot and very likely will be for some time to come. Now, how good is that . . . yep, thought so!

I was never more wrong about a draft pick. I was one of those guys critical of this draft selection.

So happy to be so wrong. Beard is one of the best--and most important--players on this team.

Frederick has the most power I have ever seen in a center in my life. Other than him the guys who stand out were Gurode and Dawson. He doesn't have Dawson's feet but he is much more nimble that I ever expected when he came in. Best OC in the NFL over the past decade.

He keeps this up and the team wins a Lombardi then he has a shot at the HoF imo.

He, along with Martin and Smith may have a shot regardless of a Lombardi. Look no further than Joe Thomas, Fuzzy.

Of course, we gonna win a few, so my point is moot :)

Dawson and Webster are the only OC to be enshrined in recent history. It's an uphill battle for him.

He wasn't even on my radar. When I look at players I look at athletic metrics to filter who I watch and who I don't. Most of the time it works because the Cowboys put a lot of stock into athletic metrics.

I looked at that 5.4 40 time and just discounted him. But then they drafted him and I looked at the shuttle and 3 cone and then started watching him play guard and center at Wisconsin. His power leaps off the screen. I likened him to Gurode, another power center.

In my mind one of the great Cowboy picks ever. Not just because he is obviously awesome, but because he was not thought of as a first round pick by many other than Dallas brass. McClay magic in full effect here.

Travis Frederick is a beast..a very smart, strong beast who i love watching play center for the team i've watched for 42 years.

Easily the best center since Tom and Mark..

I just hope we don't squander this talented offensive line with no Super Bowl appearances. We have a Super Bowl offensive line similar to the Cowboys and Giants of the 90s and the Hogs (Commanders). We NEED to get to a Super Bowl with this present crew.

The worst part of the offseason is apon us. As a fanatic Cowboys fan, I tend to watch replays of last years games to get me pumped for the up coming season. (I hope I'm not the only one that does this:) I was watching a replay of the Dallas v. Cinn game and one player stood out to me and I don't think he gets praised enough. I'm talking about Travis Frederick.

Yeah, I know. He's an All-Pro and is mentioned as one of the big three on our OL, but more folks talk about how freakish Tyron Smith is and how 'The President' Zach Martin dominates. The media will mention, how collectively, our OL is the best. Rarely, do you hear Fredricks name first. Try looking up highlights of the man. Too little highlights of a player of his caliber and importantance.

Back to the game.. if you watch the first drive (where our OL completely dominated) on the first drive that lead to an Elliott's TD, Frederick actually gets pushed from behind by Leary and falls to his knees. Travis still manages, from his knees, to block Pro-bowl LB Vontaze Burfict and allow Elliott to run 15 yards for the games first score. Simply, Amazing.

When Dallas picked Frederick 'out of know where' after a trade down in 2013, I'll admit.. I had a confused look myself. But thankfully, Dallas knew exactly what they were trying to accomplish. They grabbed a former college wrestler, graduate computer engineer, with the intelligence of a genius to man the core of our OL. He deciphers plays quickly, which surely helps Prescotts development:

"So, just having a veteran like that just allows me to feel that much more comfortable - I know the checks already, but if it's ever a situation where it's 50-50, I know I've got a guy right there I can just kind of whisper to and he's going to put me in the right situation."-Dak Prescott

When a number of players on the team like Dez, Dak, Elliott, Witten, Lee.. etc, get the spotlight.. I feel a tribute and an appreciation thread for the best Center in the league is appropriate. I've added a couple of links, but feel free to add more... And fear the beard.

I remember when he was drafted (And 2 of us celebrated,) it was said that (And I believe he even said it himself,) that he Likes to Hurt People.....
