Late to this thread but Frederick is one of my favorite players on the team. He's so smart and so good at what he does. He makes the OL go, IMO. More vital than any of the other parts, I believe.

I can't say strongly enough how much I like having him in the middle of our offense.

Ha! Emotional attachment to modern athletes is toxic. The sporting world has completely changed. The Club must come first...players, excluding elite QB's, are going to move on to the next big payday. Its simply the way big time sports business works. Business is the word to remember. Its, sadly, juvenile to fall in love with modern players....long gone are the joys of the Doomsday Defense...the certainty of continuity is dead. Greed, by all parties, have ended that. Enjoy the game...but be aware of what your really watching.

Is there some official nickname that the APA demands? smh

All I know is you are avoiding substance and trying to focus on minutiae.

Not minutiae at all. It suggests you think all psychologists are involved in mental health. Pointing to APA as representative again, greatly overestimates the role of mental health in Psychology. That's one area of application.

You suggest a field is hidebound but don't seem to recognize the breadth of the field. Nor that many areas have undergone or are undergoing dramatic paradigm shifts over that past 15 years.

How about some of you go to the off topic forum and start a thread about what you are talking about and leave out the personal insults and peeing contest. There is no urinal cake award up for grabs in this thread

Poor Beard aka Travis Frederick has his one of his few threads of praise crapped on by some bored posters in an ego contest.

The worst part of the offseason is apon us. As a fanatic Cowboys fan, I tend to watch replays of last years games to get me pumped for the up coming season. (I hope I'm not the only one that does this:) I was watching a replay of the Dallas v. Cinn game and one player stood out to me and I don't think he gets praised enough. I'm talking about Travis Frederick.

Yeah, I know. He's an All-Pro and is mentioned as one of the big three on our OL, but more folks talk about how freakish Tyron Smith is and how 'The President' Zach Martin dominates. The media will mention, how collectively, our OL is the best. Rarely, do you hear Fredricks name first. Try looking up highlights of the man. Too little highlights of a player of his caliber and importantance.

Back to the game.. if you watch the first drive (where our OL completely dominated) on the first drive that lead to an Elliott's TD, Frederick actually gets pushed from behind by Leary and falls to his knees. Travis still manages, from his knees, to block Pro-bowl LB Vontaze Burfict and allow Elliott to run 15 yards for the games first score. Simply, Amazing.

When Dallas picked Frederick 'out of know where' after a trade down in 2013, I'll admit.. I had a confused look myself. But thankfully, Dallas knew exactly what they were trying to accomplish. They grabbed a former college wrestler, graduate computer engineer, with the intelligence of a genius to man the core of our OL. He deciphers plays quickly, which surely helps Prescotts development:

"So, just having a veteran like that just allows me to feel that much more comfortable - I know the checks already, but if it's ever a situation where it's 50-50, I know I've got a guy right there I can just kind of whisper to and he's going to put me in the right situation."-Dak Prescott

When a number of players on the team like Dez, Dak, Elliott, Witten, Lee.. etc, get the spotlight.. I feel a tribute and an appreciation thread for the best Center in the league is appropriate. I've added a couple of links, but feel free to add more... And fear the beard.

Leary dominated in that game as well. Check out most of Eze's runs.

We are extremely lucky that the Front Office/Garrett/Callahan/whoever built the line that we have today.
#1 LT in the league, #1 Guard in the League and #1 Center in the league (IMO). Winning the battle in the trenches goes a long way.

Never met a dumb engineering student.

Guess I broke your streak. lol

I didnt agree with the rankings, but they were singing his praises and had him ranked higher than Martin here:

I agree, this list isn't indicative of "the best players in the East" imo.. Although I respect the player, Beckham isn't in the top spot on my list. It is nice to see so many 'Boys on that list however. :p
