Fearless Prediction: Sam Williams Starts by Midseason

If Sam W. is anywhere nearly as physically imposing as he appears to be, let's not be surprised if he's a starter far earlier than we might think. I wouldn't be shocked in the least if he became a starter by game 4 or 5. Of course, that's merely an assumption but he's definitely a physical freak. Here's hoping the mental aspect of his development goes as well as it might be boldly assumed. I'm anticipating exceptionally good things from him.

Jerry will not let all those millions be standing on the sideline, so absolutely not Williams will start over DLaw.

The term "starter" is pretty irrelevant to the DL

But there's no shot he overtakes DLaw on standard nickel packages because he's a pure pass rusher and DLaw is maybe the best run defending edge in the NFL. In certain passrush packages, maybe Williams overtakes DLaw, but no way he'd become the "starter."

And because the "starter" label is irrelevant, all the more DLaw will keep the title.
