Damontre Moore

Analysis

STRENGTHS: Possesses a lean, lanky build with plenty of room for additional muscle mass. Flashes a quick first step off the snap. Has long, strong arms and uses his hands well to defeat blocks.

Generates impressive speed off the edge, including a late burst to close. Good flexibility to dip under the tackle's reach and has the long arms to keep his opponent from grabbing a hold of him.

Lines up in a variety of spots and is capable of beating defenders with his quickness, as well as bull rush and a complimentary spin move that he'll use to slip inside or outside. Improving strength as a run defender. Generally does a nice job of sealing off the edge to keep his containment responsibilities.

Locates the ball well and pursues with passion. Closes on the ballcarrier quickly and shows good strength for the drag-down tackle. Rips away at the ball when he can, showing the ability to force fumbles (8 over three seasons). Developing use of hands to get into passing windows and when rushing kickers, blocking two kicks in 2012.

Showed surprising awareness, lateral agility and straight-line speed when asked to drop back into coverage

Swap your 1st round pick of DE- Damontre Moore and take DE Datone Jones.

Datone Jones is better fit for the strong side at 280 lbs. Damontre Moore is light at 250 lbs. and is weak. He would play Ware's postion, no need for him.

Swap your 2nd rounder S- Swearinger and and take S- Cyrprien

Round 2 is a little high for Swearinger. He's a 3rd/4th Round guy. Cyprien or Elam would be a better choice in the 2nd.

Love the mock and how you address all the needs. Love the Schwenke and Logan picks.

Like the idea of taking a RB in the 6th. Whoever they take has to be better than Lance Dunbar. May stay away from Knile Davis though. He's fast, but injury prone. Give me Zacy Stacy in the 6th round. Or Cierre Wood

Cyprien won't be there for our 2nd round pick..Elam is a SS.. We already have church..need a guy with some range. The newest mock I have seen has Swearinger going 62nd to the ravens so I wouldn't be so sure that he is a 3rd/4th rounder.

And who's mock is this?

Anyone can mock someone somewhere. And 62 is the bottom of the 2nd round. We pick at 47, that would be a huge reach for Swearinger.

And are you sure Cyprien wont be there at 47? He's flying up draft boards, but not necessarily out of reach in the middle of the 2nd.

It's the latest mock on BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1 which is one of the most accurate draft sites out there. If Cyprien was there I would take him without hesitation over Swearinger but I am seeing him mostly anywhere from 31-45... We could get lucky and have him drop but it doesn't seem likely. And I think the closer we get to draft day the closer to our pick you will see Swearinger slotted to go.

Walterfootball is great.

I agree, Swearinger could rise.

Hopefully Cyprien falls to us.

Datone Jones

WEAKNESSES: A classic 'tweener who until his senior season hadn't ever lived up to expectations

Lacks the sustained speed and flexibility to turn the corner as a traditional 4-3 defensive end.

that right there says he will not be a cowboy - not in Kiffens scheme

Lacks the bulk to handle full-time duties as a traditional defensive tackle.

Has a tendency to stand up as he comes off the ball, losing out on the leverage battle. Uses his hands well initially but tires quickly and struggles to disengage once his opponent has locked on

You know, eventually people are going to realize that in the 4-3 you can use a guy like Moore or even Mingo like the Broncos used Von Miller in their 4-3.

Sure, Von is a special player, but it can be duplicated especially here where we don't have a SLB yet anyway.

I don't think Logan's there in the 4th anymore, and I would be mortified if we took Biscuit v2.0 in the 2nd.

But you have to jump on Moore if he drops, so I'd love that. You'll get a variety of responses to that - those who have watched any A&M football games over the last couple years would love the pick, and anyone who just looked up some 40-times on the internet will hate it. In the end, he'll work out again a week from Friday and get his stock back up to top 15 range, I think.

Walterfootball is a guy in a room, like most of us. Neither more nor less accurate, if perhaps more committed.

I have this feeling that Lane Johnson is going to be the pick.

Agree with both of those things. I don't dislike Swearinger, but I don't want him before the 4th probably. Maybe late in the third if we get a comp pick there.

I think mocks that have him going to the Ravens are doing so because he said he wants to go there. Otherwise, I think they have other needs they need to address in the first two rounds.

And I doubt Brennan Williams is there as well, unless I missed something and he slipped quite a bit.

47 is too high for Swearinger

I actually like him ok in the 4th.

A BTW, just because Walter Football took him way too early does not make it legit.

I saw two others that had 135 and 164...to provide another extreme.

He has a shoulder injury that could push him down a little.

I think Swearinger is in the top 5 Safeties.

Lane Johnson will NOT make it past 18...........book it. If he somehow falls, he's wearing the star.
