Mens, it has been a very difficult several weeks.
Sean Lee
Dez
Phillips
These were, mens, the mens who I most looked forward to see this preseason.
In the dog days of Farmers Branch -- where dreams crumble daily to the tunes of country and rap and the Johnny Mann singers -- my reverie takes in the tackles by Sean Lee and the cheers. Dez somersaulting and catapulting to catch the football in the endzone and the fleet Phillips taking one on the run from Romo in the flat or even blocking for Felix.
Cheated.
These were such intriguing football players.
Ah do not recall ever looking forward to the development of three such players whose talents and or potential intoxicated many fans and Jerra.
My hopes is that these three players are studying, studying, studyings. Learning the system and soaking in the football from Wade and Garrett and the special teams coaches.
Crappy way to start the season. But the Cowboys, thank goodness, are deep this year. It is of no immediate imlportance to the team right now. It is early preseason and they are young.
Which one of the three most intrigued you? I would say Phillips. We know how talented Dez be. Lee was the unknown but with that Lions pedigree and toughness some observed him to have.
But dagnabit, these were hard losses to take.
