Frederick was ready from day 1. Taco I don't know if he can come in and be a starter type. Willis would've been though

They said he is a high character guy so I'm hoping with Greg Jackson's connection to Michigan that's an informed opinion. And Jerry said he's 100% healthy so maybe he will see the field early and we won't have to worry about a bad back or substance abuse sidelining him like we have so many times in the past.

Yes, no injury history or possible future suspensions. No more wasted picks on projects.

Same goes for the rest of the day. No more fliers. Get players who can contribute NOW !!!

You still draft first round to start in the lineup, up front...but there will be plenty of competition. The group, although, should grow strong.

This reaction is showing the ridiculous impact of media and others on the fan base.

As in some other years, Charlton had been mocked to Dallas for quite some time early on, and fans were fine with him, even excited. Then after the underware olympics, he has his 40 time (of all things for a DE) compared to the 40 times of guys 20-30 lbs lighter. The weeks following the long sprint, jumping, and other storylines suddenly had all the guys like Harris, Willis, and Watt jumping up. Everyone talks about three things with Harris--spin move, first step, but a definite liability vs the run. McKinley--straight line speed, motor, but light and lack of bend and moves.

We watched the risers after the combine and suddenly Charlton is a reach. I seriously believe that the two best 4-3 DEs in this draft will be Barnett and Charlton.

Just as long as he isn't constantly getting stonewalled like the rest of our D-line, then I'll be fine.

I remember what people said about Dak when we drafted him and other prospects we drafted that turned out good. Everybody chill, I'm willing to bet Taco performs better then most expect.

I get it though it didn't matter who we pick or what Jerry and company do yall will still complain. Eat crow on Taco as well, yall have to be full by now

I remember that vibe being very similar to this one. A lot of us felt like we reached and weren't too excited about that pick. A few pro bowls and all pro's later some of us are eating crow.

I'm hoping Taco turns out to be the same exact way.

I wasn't really too thrilled with the pick and was hoping we would trade back, but I can't change it now so we'll have to play the watch and see game .

Not even close. This guy is a 3rd round player IMO. A guard with T-Rex gimpy arms playing tackle could stop him.

Maybe from the fan reaction, but Taco actually was rated by draft experts in the range we took him while Frederick was considered a "reach."

A closer comparison would have been if Dallas had taken Basham with the 28th pick, then both the fans and the experts would be hating on the Cowboys.

7-12 sacks gets him Rookie of the Year consideration. Bold prediction.

Correct. I'd be happy with 5-6 sacks and that might be stretching it. He needs to put on some good weight too. He's ok above the waist but needs to bulk up his core and legs.

yea, i didn't do any "i hope we take player x!" this year. heck, i didn't do a single mock draft or really pay much attention, just been too busy. so all i can do now is watch reactions from people and go by their past history to know if this pick is any good.

if risen hates it, he's a perennial pro bowler.

I honestly don't know what to make of the pick since we have no idea which ends will turn out to be the best ones from this draft. I had my favorites, but that doesn't mean they would have been better picks. I'm excited that we took an end and hopeful that it works out for the best.

Just dumb to say. Not even close. Why are so many people down on this pick. We draft an instant starter who is a three down player and will give us 7-12 sacks in his first year. What else do you want with the 28th pick? And at least he isn't one of those tweeners.
Do you know how rare it is to have a rookie to hit those dark numbers? 12 sacks? Ware had 8 as a rookie and he was much more talented and revered prospect.

Naw, I was feeling something else...

th

Me2, I don't get it but I got it!

Been saying Taco since before the Draft Combine, luv the big capable DLs in the NFL, it's where the league is going. Kony Ealy, Michael Brockers are big athletes who ran slower 40 times but are successful in the league, and liked/wanted them as well.

Was downed around here for wanting big/strong/solid/athletic/War Daddys in the past because of mediocre 40 yard dash times. Well we got him this Draft and don't have to watch him succeed for another team.
