Felix, Choice, and Ware: 2 opinions fans won't like

the answer to Ware is simple.....he needs a blow throughout the game. If the coaches had got their heads out their *** on the last drive against the Giants, and put some fresh bodies in, we migiht have won that game. I don't care what your name is on the back of your shirt, a big name going 50% is not better than a no name going 100% Just look at the last drive, the Cowboys put a fresh body in the game and the guy had more sacks and turnovers in 5 plays than the Cowboys defense had the ENTIRE YEAR GOING INTO THAT GAME!!

again to me that hits the nail on the head to a degree,
like after first game, wade says i didnt used blitz package enough in preseason
then wade says, well i misjudged the man to man coverage, need more man to man
then after the giant game too wade says, well we need to work some players in to keep our defenders fresher

duh, arent you the defensive coordinator wade, isnt that you job to have that ready? why are you always waiting to fix things wade? do your cotton picking job

the icing on the cake; in wade's press conference, wade pops off and says looks like the players got mad some, well wade arent you suppose to get mad too and let the players know?

Quit waiting for people to do your job wade!

I'll say it again. Ware did next to nothing in pre-season, and he's not all over the field like I'm used to seeing great OLBs be.

I don't know what the problem is, I just hope a fire gets lit.

But it is affecting his running with all these injuries... he was suposed to be our home run hitter, and so far he's only hitting doubles. He's been caught from behind at least twice so far this year. Last night, RW11 put his hands up when Felix got around the corner, then realized he wasn't gonna make it to the endzone. What happened to his top end speed... he has the burst through the line, but he's not out running DBs like we expected...
Without Felix on this team, all explosiveness is gone.

You saw how hard things were with a HORRIBLE team to move the ball on offense. No WR can get opened on a regular basis, GREAT teams will shut down your runs, so go ahead and clown on the best thing this offense has.

He's injury prone right now but this is barely a year and a few months in, it's hard to decide who's injury prone that early I'd think.

Ware gained extra weight durin the offseason and they were saying that he didn't lose any speed, but it's quite apparent that he did......

It's called angles. The defenders had them, Felix didn't. Also, Felix doesn't have great top-end speed, he's more of an accelerator than a Owens-like top-speed guy. To put it in Track terms, he's more Asafa Powell than Usain Bolt.

I don't buy that excuse....who relieved him last year? Spencer was almost always relieving Ellis. Ware was on the field most of the time last year, too, and it doesn't explain his being so slow off the ball and not getting around the field early in the game.

You may want to watch the highlights on NFL.com. The defender takes a horrible angle and he still makes the play.

I'm not debating his explosiveness one bit, that part is obvious. I'm just noticing that he hasn't shown an ability to outrun the secondary... YET!

It seems to be a glitch in the filter. It never has been before yesterday.

pass

Yeah, the filter was glitchy yesterday. The "Jeff" in Jeff Otah kept getting censored.

I am not worried about Ware. Remember MUST stop run 1st.

We have played teams who's strength are in their RBs. Furthermore, we were gashed in our 1st game by Tampa. The team has made a commitment to shutting down the run 1st and when you play against RB's who cuts back, you MUST be disciplined in maintaining your gap and contain cutback lanes. Just watch Peppers last night. He is in a hurry to get to the QB and allows TE or LT to seal him off and take him completely out of the play. We get huge yardage because of overly aggressive DE/LBs.

Ware will be fine. He's sacks will come. It'll also help if he gets some rest.

Seriously, 9+ yds per carry and you are complaining?

If he's not 100% and still explodes through holes and make sick moves like he did, I'm pretty happy with that!

unbelievable

no question about why I have "I see stupid people" in my screenname

I'd understand the lukewarm attitude toward Felix Jones if he was averaging five yards a carry, but he averages almost a first down every time he is handed the ball. That kind of mind-blowing productivity should buy him a lot of patience from the organization and the fans. I'm not sure he can ever be a 250-carry back, but he approach 1,000 yards on as low as 150 carries. That's just crazy productivity.

Quoted for truthiness.

Felix Jones is a better runner than Choice. Choice has great heart and great attitude and I never want to see him go, we have great RB depth, maybe the best RB depth in the entire league...But Jones is the better runner as far as vision and moves.

I don't know if it was corrected but anything with *** in it was effectively getting filtered as well.

Edit: Looks like that was corrected as well.

I want to eat a delicious bass while I pass gass.

edit: yup, it's fixed.

One thing I noticed about Ware this season is that the few times he does try to spin inside the OT, he runs into Olshanksy. I don't know if Ware isn't taking the OT deep enough before spinning inside or if Olshanksy pushes either up field or outside too much or what. I'd almost like to see Olshanksy move into Ratliffs spot and Ratliff next to Ware a few snaps.

Yep, he doesn't seem to have much of a motor right now.

Ware just doesn't seem to have any sort of a fluid, inside move right now.

All the tackle has to do is bailout, because he never has to worry about Ware swiimming or spinning him underneath. If Ware tries to do that, he almost comes to a full stop, which allows the tackle to recover.

It's easily correctable. I just remember that offseason article about how Ware wasn't going to worry about mixing it up, just play your one big card. But any tackle worth his salt can handle an outside speed rush, if that's all you're going to bring to the table.

Yep, that article came to mind last night. Wasn't Wade the one who brought the subject up? I seem to recall that Wade said something along the lines of you don't want to add too many moves to your repertoire, because you end up thinking too much about it instead of just reacting.

The guy is averaging 10.1 ypc.... What does he need to average to be a home run hitter, 20.2?

Does he get dinged up too much? Yes! But this guy is a home-run hitter. He just needs to stay healthy, avoid the occasional shoe-string tackle and learn to pick up the blitz better.

Ware got a neck stinger in the first game vs Tampa. It probably still bothering him because he appears to lack upper body strenght. He's missing sacks and tackles, something he was very good at.
