Had Bo Jackson devoted his career only to football and had he not had the degenerative hip problem he would have ran for over 20,000 yards in his career without a doubt. I know, IF, If If.

I'm just worried we are going to be saying the same thing about Felix 20 years from now.

No way in hell he would have had 20,000 yards. Not even close.

Liked Bo Jackson and felt he could have put up a great career had it not been for the injury. Bo had special talents that not many possess.

Yeah, few players were as unique as him...He was a homerun threat everytime he had the ball

Jones is a very good back but he's no Bo Jackson. I know the stats are nice and all but Bo was not like any player I've ever seen. Seriously.

:hammer: Bo was a super human who happened to play football.

I liked Bo Jackson, but face it he will never even get a sniff of the HOF. Gayle Sayers is already there, Felix .... who knows.

I agree Bo will not make it to the HOF the injury and missing 1/3 of the season due to baseball each year, he just does not have the numbers. Watching him play though this man was a great player and too bad it did end as it did.

Are people really talking about Bo Jackson as if he was all that? The guy was a freak for a very short time. He never played a full season, never scored more than 6 TDs in a season, never rushed for 1000 yards, and was gone after 4 years.

Yes he had some big runs at times but he was anything but a football god folks. An athletic freak to be sure but those kind don't last very long and he proved it. Gale Sayers was all that and more but he didn't last long either.

Felix Jones is VERY comparable to Bo Jackson. He is averaging 9.4 yards per carry so far in his career! That's 4 yards per carry more than Bo did.

Granted that is in only one fourth the number of games (9 as opposed to 38) but then Bo doesn't compare with Jim Brown, who averaged 5.64 yards per carry over his LAST 3 seasons (42 games).

Bo Jackson was an athletic freak who had a some big runs, nothing more. He wasn't even an every down back.

Just to satisfy my curiosity how come you mention athletic freaks and Jim Brown and say that athletic freaks don't last long?

Probably because your body never gets much of a rest. Bo was going between Feb to Oct playing Major league baseball then from Oct to Dec/Jan playing pro football. He was very good at both but it has to take a toll on the body
