I absolutely LOVE this guy! He is the most dynamic running back to wear the star since Tony D. That move he put on the Carolina DB was sic. He has a chance to go the distance EVERY time he touches the ball.

I hate it that he is so injury prone. I pray that this is his last injury for a long time. He's an awesome kid who deserves a break.

Per Schefter's Twitter:

Adam_Schefter - This isn't good: Jerry Jones told Ed Werder that he is concerned about the severity of Cowboys running back Felix Jones' knee injury.

Adam_Schefter - Jones told Werder the RB was unable to loosen his left knee after suffering a knee strain and the feeling now is that he might need an MRI.

Well that doesn't sound good at all.

No, it's not. When he's on the field our offense is on a whole different level.

Its not uncommon for him to get caught from behind. He is more quick than fast, just go back and watch his college clips.

That's not true at all. Felix is both quick and fast. The guy is one of the 3 or 4 most dangerous runners in the NFL. He's averaging an insane yards per carry and usually has a run or two per game where a last ditch trip costs him a touchdown.
The guy just moves extremely smoothly toward the hole and then is 5 yards past everyone.

Every player in the league gets caught from behind because of angles.

Felix was clearly a speedster at Arkansas where he was dominant as a runner and kick off returner. He had one of the best career yard per carry averages in SEC history.

Doesn't he have the second highest YPC in NCAA history? I thought he was only behind someone from the 40s.

Just saw an interesting stat on SportsCenter. Jones is the first RB to gain at least 400 yards on his first 50 carries since Bo Jackson did it in '87. Electric stuff.

I dont know what you are watching, but no, he isnt.

Most of these really big hits and bad falls come on these breakaway plays, and the guy is running full speed.

seriously?

you can even make the argument that choice is taking even worse hits.. look at his touchdown run.. he gets absolutely LEVELLED going across the goalline, and that's just one example of the many of those types of hits he takes. I hate to say it but if Felix had sustained that kind of blow, he'd probably be out for the season.

Jones falls 14 carries shy of the SEC 400 carry minimum for the Career YPC category.

If Jones had gained ZERO yards for 14 more carries, he would still surpass Bo Jackson's leading 6.2 by 1.4 YPC, at 7.6 YPC!

They flashed that stat during the game yesterday after one of his big runs. It's seriously sweeeeet.

Has Felix lost a step due to the toe injury? Sure seems to me he is being caught from behind lately. Last year when he broke one he was gone angle or no angle. This year he seems to be getting stopped

On his big run down the sideline, after Roy W stepped in and made that block, you could see him celebrate as if he thought Jones would easily make it into the endzone. But he got caught from behind. He does seem to be a little slower right now, but even with that he's explosive.

Schefter was just on ESPN and had this to say...

players seem to think jones should be out two weeks and now the question becomes whether or not barber will be back next week. but the players in the cowboys locker room think jones should be out about two weeks.

Jerry's worried ....

In the wake of the Dallas Cowboys' come-from-behind victory over Carolina, Jerry Jones said Tuesday that he is concerned about the severity of running back Felix Jones' knee injury.

The Cowboys owner said Jones was unable to loosen his left knee after suffering what the team has initially diagnosed as a knee strain that would be re-evaluated, indicating the likelihood the second-year pro will have an MRI.

Hopefully he doesn't end up like Jackson in the end.

PFT's take...

Cowboys hold breath on Felix Jones' knee

Posted by Tom Curran on September 29, 2009 12:29 PM ET
Through three games, the Cowboys have the most devastating rushing attack in the NFL.

Eighty-five carries, 581 yards, a per-attempt average of 6.8.

The runner-up in running the football so far is New Orleans. But the Saints have needed 17 more carries to gain 69 fewer yards (102 for 512).

Still the durability of Dallas' three-headed backfield monster -- Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and Tashard Choice -- is an ongoing concern. First, Barber's quad muscle kept him out of Monday night's game with the Panthers.

And now Jones is undegoing an MRI on his knee according to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News. Jones' knee went bad during a 40-yard gain Monday night. (Jones is averaging 10.1 yards per carry, a figure more appropriate for a high school star.)

Archer said that postgame indications were that the injury isn't a major concern. ESPN's Ed Werder was told by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that Felix Jones had trouble loosening the knee after the injury.

This Sunday, the Cowboys are at Denver -- a team that's allowed just one touchdown in three games this year.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told ESPN's Ed Werder that he is concerned about the severity of Felix Jones' left knee injury.

Felix said he was fine after the game, but it was hard to believe him. Jones (the owner) said his running back was unable to loosen his knee and he might need an MRI. The injury is still being called a strain, but expect more tests Tuesday.

damn, our season went down the toilet last year after he was hurt, hopefully he is only out the next two weeks and we can get Barber back.
