Felix Jones is officially the real deal

Yeah I like how Felix can see an open lane and then just turn it on. I like Choice as well. His effort on that blocked punt of his was amazing. We have very good depth at RB this year. Those were 2 very good solid picks for us.

Its preseason.

We dont know what Felix can do yet.

With that said. He is exciting to wathc... but it STILL preseason.

Its funny how some on here will "annoint" a player and "crucify" a player on a few preseason plays.

Funny stuff...:laugh2:

:hammer:

If we can't declare a player to be a "bust" after a few games, then we can't declare Felix to be the "real deal." What we want for him and what we know are two different things. For all we know, Choice could end up having the better career.

If Felix isnt the starting RB then I will be upset. Barber is not a starter. He is a pounder, a RB that should see the ball about 1/3 of the time or in situations that are his strength. Not an everydown back... not even getting the majority of the carries.

don't worry. Half way into the season Felix will be playing a lot more. I think the correct way to use barber is like the way he was use in college, split his carries with Maroney(felix).

I guess Mendenhall being on the board after our pick will be ok. Tashard Choice will develop into a real threat as well!!!!

My favorite quote about Felix from the last hard knocks is when one of the coaches was like:

"Its not like we got him in the 3rd round or anything but I think we stole him."

My god some people are clueless.

JuJo got figured out and he wasn't a good enough RB to counter what defenses did to shut him down.

It's not rocket science. Plus, people majorly exhaggerate how much bigger JuJo got anyway. Seriously, he didn't go from 180 to 300.

Julius lost his wiggle, and was not as quick. If you cant see that you are blind.

Felix can hold 5 to 10 more pounds on that frame and not miss a beat.

So far I'm impressed with Felix...It's exciting to watch him play. Let's just hope he will be consistent in the regular season onwards...

JuJo getting bigger and stronger had absolutely ZERO negative effect on his game.

Defenses watched game film of him and figured him out. End of story.

holy crap rack, why do you always have to deal in absolutes? it doesn't make your points any more valid, you just come off looking like a tool.

Julius never had too many instincts or vision. He had success early on because he had one type of play that he could run well (and he killed Seattle with it). Once teams took that away... he had very little left other than athleticism.

He never was that good in the open field and his hands were atrocious.

Felix has open field skills, hands, vision and instincts that Julius never did have. He's going to be a huge weapon for us.

The preseason is all about individual performance. Felix making the plays that he has, is all about individual performance.

That's how somebody can be excited about Felix and not worried about the team.

Very well said.

It's nice to have a RB that you can get on the edge of your seat when he gets the ball.
Instead of sitting back and thinking, 2 yards and hit the pile of guys in front of you.

Reminds me of the moaning and groaning people did when he only benched 8 reps.

The combine is nice and all but watch the games for goodness sakes.
I gotta say that Felix's arms look much bigger now than in his last year at Arkansas.
You can see it. Not that would make that much of a difference on his running ability but Juraszek has obviously made an impression with Felix.
