Felix Jones nursing shin injury

Well then why did Jerry take Felix with the 4th overall pick and leave Oakland to take McFadden at #28?

Oh, wait.

You want 'perspective'? HJow about you start comparing apples to apples; we sure as **** missed out on Chris Johnson. But then again, this kid Dez Bryant ain't too shabby of a pick either.

Yep. We sure did miss out on Chris Johnson... If you knew me well enough, you would have known that I have beaten that CJ horse to death since draft day.

I love me some Dez. I also think there's relevance in charting the careers of the two Arkansas RBs. McFadden FTW.....

When you make a good point please alert me so I can soak it up.

Obviously McFadden was projected to have a better carreer; that's why he was taken 4th. I don't think you bring up any valid point to prove anything, at all, whatsoever. But c'est la vie.

I like to stir the pot to bring the fat to the surface. :D

Felix does seem to have durability issues, but I like having him on our team. When he's good, he's really good. He's been banged up, but it's not like he's missed a bunch of games this season. Imagine how he would be with a good offensive line.

injury prone

He's had one major injury where he had to miss an extended period of time. He's not injury prone. To be injury prone you have to suffer multiple injuries and miss extended period of time. Don't know why everybody is making a deal about it because it's unlikely he misses anytime even if he does season is essentially over so what?

Also do yall really think CJ would be anymore productive under this horrible offensive line than Felix/Choice? I dont.

Besides CJ won't last much longer, his slender build can't take the punishment.

See, this is why I'm convinced some of my fellow Cowboys fans are shallow-minded imbeciles. I doubt some of them even have the intellectual capacity of a sea anemone.

Right now, just like with Kevin Burnett, folks are claiming Felix Jones is injury prone and he sucks and he's a bust and he's never done nothing for us and never will. The same coelenterates will then mewl about the front office of this organization if Felix Jones goes to someone else and shines.

Now I'm just waiting on a putz to go ahead and put Mr. Glass' head on Felix Jones body, like some other churl did with Kevin Burnett to make themselves seem witty and cutting edge. You're as unique as a mud speckle on the mud flap of reality.

But that's how Cowboys fans are. We're not happy unless we're hating on one of our own players. Ba fa' 'gul to all of you Felix Jones haters and any other haters of anyone wearing the Blue Star. I mean, Felix Jones is in the fore in this thread, but our wonderful, loyal, perspicacious fans -- the same type who booed Don Meredith out of a restaurant -- do it just about anyone wearing the Blue Star. Pudor tu.

So i guess its now Choice vs Felix around here?

I am surprised no one has mentioned the couple of games several years ago that Choice played against the Steelers.

Compare the production of Choice and Felix on both College and Pro level.
It has been done several times in other threads and never once has Choice came out on top. But I guess production doesnt matter. It also doesnt matter than pro coaches and scouts that watch, coach, practice and play with both guys for a few years now have Felix playing over Choice. Nah why let good logic get in the way here.

After all Choice is the best overall back on this team. It must be true since it has been typed on an internet message board by a few fans from their living room sofas with no experience in professional football or talent evaluation.

btw... Choice is credited for 0 broken tackles all of last season. Felix has a better average yards per carry in every season they played both pro and college. But choice had a good game against the steelers years ago. So he must be better.

Sort of drifting away from the topic, and I know it should be in the fantasy football section, but who would u rather start this week: Felix or Tashard? OR do you suggest I go with flopshot Bowe?

You know...I realize I'm kinda new around here compared to some of you dinosaurs and thus bite my tongue often out of respect...However, if some of US happen to have a view that differs from yours about Jones vs Choice, please show the same respect and bite yours.
Choice, imo, IS the better back.
I prefer showers to baths and rather freeze than sweat...

He may be made of glass, but at least he doesn't ask anyone for an autograph for his nephew!

McFadden is currently proving which one of the two load sharers was the pick of the litter at Arkansas. Not hate here... Just perspective. I like Felix. I also happen to believe Choice is the RB on the team most suited to play a prime time 60 minute per game running game leveraging role.

Cue the wonderlings that will point at our most recent win over Washington and Choice's numbers as compared to Glass Joe. To those I say, give Choice 13 weeks at the helm along with Felix and see where they are in week 14 given the same amount of training camp, pre-season, and regular season exposure next year. I look forward to revisiting at that time when both players will have had a fair shake.. ;)

Agenda, spenda....until Dallas dominates the line of scrimmage, I would stick with a larger framed runner that can power with his cuts. Felix is more physical than Tashard in my book. But Tashard makes upfield decisions much more spontaneous and with explosion. The hitting will eventually catch up to him in the lead dog role, I'm afraid.

He did squat up until this point so whats your point? Your agenda is shining thru Bleu.

Hey, squats are part of almost all sporting routines. Ever squatted and benched 500? I did at a ripe age of 43 and in the service. Not bragging, just expanding the humorous portion. But when I moved the bench at that total, I saw stars...literally. Just expanding discussion parameters here...

I actually have been really impressed with Felix of late. Considering that our line play has been a notch above pathetic most of the season, Felix has shown he can be a physical runner that can fight for that extra yard.

IMO, the fact he's averaging 4.0 ypc with this current o-line is a minor miracle.

No slight to Choice because I like him too.

Either way, you get some fresh horses on that line and I think the whole rushing attack improves exponentially.

Thanks for your insights, realtick...as I agree with your words here.

I think he also has 46 receptions so far this season with a 4.1 yard rushing/attempt avg.

That's not too bad given the state of the team (esp the OL).

Get the Felix Jones hating here at all. The guy is a good football player who keeps his nose clean and is all about the "team" but some here just "bash" the guy because he gets nicked up a bit? He isn't vocal about his role doesn't complain and has been pretty consistent this year with his play. He is averaging 3 yards less a game compared to last year and 1.8 yards per carry less as well, but that due to the lack of big plays this year. I am sorry I would take felix on my team any day. I hope he finishes strong he will have a career best this year and as far as I am concerned one of the lone bright spots in this crappy season. I can't wait to see him next year with a better line and a year under the new HC conditioning program and practice program.

Same here.

So he missed a Tuesday (when teams normally wouldn't even be practicing at all) and Wednesday with a bruised shin... So what. I bet he plays and plays well on Saturday night.

This reminds me of last year when Newman sat out some of training camp and everyone screamed "Injury prone again!!! Glass!!!"... And then he played in every game.

Good points and accurate.

Adrian Peterson didn't even play Monday night, and he was expected to play from what I've heard.

Felix Jones is on a pace to reach 1300 total yards, and if he does it, he will have done it despite inconsistent or poor offensive line play during the season. Plus, in the first 8 games, Jones received double digit carries only 2 times. There were two games where he didn't catch a pass.

Felix Jones has 1,085 total yards (204 touches) and two touchdowns after 14 games. (5.3 YPT) Jones has run very good in the redzone, too.

In the first 8 games, Felix Jones averaged 57.3 YPG. Since Jason Garrett became head coach, Jones has averaged 104.3 total yards per game. Jones has averaged 17.8 touches per game under Garrett. 57.6% of Jones' total yards have come in the last 6 games. That is 626 total yards in 6 games. In this span, Jones has caught 22 passes for 286 yards and 1 TD; 71T.

Here is an interesting stat for you:

Felix Jones is only 81 yards behind WR Roy E. Williams.

Receptions by RBs (in order by total yards receiving):

1. Rice 62
2. McCoy 74
3. Foster 60
4. McFadden 43
5. Hillis 59
6. Gore 46
7. Jones 46

Jones trails McFadden by 33 yards. McFadden has a 67 yard TD, and Jones has a 71 yard TD.

I'm with you guys.
