You are absolutely right..but that is not what we are discussing.

How so? The initial question posed in this thread was "Who is more important to this team this coming season?" I think I'm clear in suggesting that Felix Jones is, because he is more talented than Bennett and because offenses built on a solid running game always fare better - and win more championships - than offenses buit on the pass. And besides, Felix Jones can be used as a RB and as a receiver, so even from that persepctive he's more versitile; hence more important to this team this coming season.

The bottom line is that they are BOTH important...

Key on one... the other beats you...

RB's are more easily game-planned against... it's easier to stop them when you sell out...

It's harder to contain a player in the open field, because more factors are involved...

Also, Felix is more effective with more space. In the end zone it's very tight and physical running or receiving as I'm sure you know. MB is much more competitive in the air with tight coverage than Felix Jones. But MB is not going to curl and cut around those tackles 20 yards to the end zone like Felix either. Someone has to be able to catch tough balls in the end zone and that's what the best receivers do.

Exactly. They're not going to go to Felix in the passing game in the red zone, esp those 3rd and goals from around the 8 or so, thats where MB is going to be dangerous, esp w/ d's having to worry about everyone else, Witten, Roy, heck Romo taking off, etc.
I see Felix scoring from the 20-30 where they can get the ball to him in space on underneath stuff.
Also, until proven otherwise i want the ball in Barbers hands around the goal line, he's healthy and probably a bit of a chip on his shoulder with all the Felix/Choice love going on along with Jerry calling out his toughness last year.'

Garretts got a buttload of options out there, hopefully he can earn that highest paid coordinator title this year.

Felix if he stays healthy.he could be the key if we are going to do well in december and in the playoffs.I have a slight concern about him staying healthy though.

If, from what I read, the 12 personnel becomes our base offense, I would say Bennet just because he would be on the field more than Felix.

He would even be on the field when Felix is out there, blocking for him so he can make those 50 yard TD scampers :)

If Bennet works out, it would also be an enabling factor for Felix to have a great year.

Personally, I like Felix more than Bennet, but I think Bennet is going to be an even bigger part of our offensive game plan than Felix will be.

Felix simply because the RB touches the ball more often and it's easier to get him the ball.

As a Skins fan -- I am definitely more afraid of Jones then I am of Bennett.

I thought last year that in the handful of games that Felix Jones played in, he was the best player on the field at the time.

I think that when the year is over we'll be ranking him with Demarcus Ware and Jason Witten as the best Cowboys players.
