I have never been this excited about a Dallas Cowboys rookie in the 25 years I've been a fan of this franchise.

I was excited when we took him with our first pick but I was going to stay a bit reserved until I saw him play, but now I challenge someone to tell me why he won't be a star in this league.

When was the last time the Cowboys had an offensive football player of any experience, let alone a rookie, who had such explosive offensive potential? This kid has made two of the biggest plays since the Parcells era began.

1) A 98 yd kickoff return against a hated Eagles team that was hot, in the last Monday night game ever at Texas Stadium.

2) A 61 yd TD run, at a Lambeau Field that was absolute bedlam, a stadium in which your team has never won.

My next jersey may just be #28 and say Jones on the back, and it will hang right next to the one that says Woodson.

Even in the 90s, the only explosive player we had was Deion. Now we have TO, Felix, Pacman and Newman to a degree.

What?!

Wow... just... wow.

Yeah Emmitt or Irvin weren't explosive. Not at all.

T.O., Pacman, and TNew are all great players, but there's something different about Felix. I haven't seen a cowboy RB with a nose for running lanes likes Felix since #22 himself.

The thing that separates him from Emmitt is his speed. He is so quick around the corners it's ridiculous. I'm not saying he's the next Emmitt Smith, but man he's gonna be an exciting player.

I think he meant kick returners.
But even then he's forgetting that Kelvin Martin and Kevin Williams were threats to take it to the house at all times.

Felix is more Dorsett-like than anything.

Coincidentally, Dorsett was the missing piece to the 1977 Super Bowl team, rookie of the year at that time, could history repeat?

:lmao2:

They were slightly combustible but never explosive.

Good job... you just showed the whole board that you don't know a dang thing about football.

Irvin and Emmitt "Never" explosive? Seriously, turn in your man card... now.

When I think explosive, I think speed. Neither Emmitt nor Irvin were known for their speed.

TO is explosive. Irvin was not. Irvin had much better hands though and was a much more physical receiver, but explosive? Not so much.

I mean, I don't think of Barber as explosive either. He doesn't have the speed to just disappear into the secondary and turn on the jets. He pounds people. Felix is explosive.

Felix certainly has done a lot more then we could have expected in these first 3 games. Must admit I'll be waiting in every game for at least one big explosive play from him. I'm sure the rest of the NFL is just delighted that we've added another weapon to our arsenal which they must account for. And just think, we haven't shown what he can do in the passing game. I think we all know, as does DC around the NFL, that Felix will show up there soon enough. So how does he look against Mendenhall now? Of course, we'll get a look at Mendenhall when it's time to play the Steelers in December.

History WILL repeat.

I believe I shall call him Felix "scatman" Jones

Well whatever you call Emmitt and Irvin (Explosive, slow, average, great) I'll take it. They only helped in major ways win 3 Superbowls.

3 Superbowl championships = Explosive enough to me. :)

Has Felix won over the folks that were against drafting him instead of Mendenhall and Johnson)? Dude has been pretty money so far.

You have the wrong definition of "Explosive" then.

Speed is speed. Explosive =/= Speed.

Marion Barber most certainly is "explosive". So was Irvin. So was Emmitt.

On the other side of it, Tyson Thompson was incredibly fast... but not explosive.

Julious Jones exploded into OL's backs.

On draft day when the team before us picked whomever they picked and left Mendenhall for us I was jumping up and down yelling "we's gots Mendenhall". Then when we chose Felix I was like "Ohhh, Ok. He's a good pick too". But not nearly as excited as if we would have picked Mendenhall.

But now, after three games it appears that Felix' transition to the NFL was a quick one. Immediate production. We are glad to have you young man!:)

I am pleasantly surprised in Felix Jones and his production. I was kinda unsure about him when we drafted him but now I'm at ease. He's gonna make rookie of the year...
