Im just feeling a big game from him this week. IMO this will be his coming out party.

All the talk this week has been about Romo and the Cowboys receivers but Felix Jones is the easiest way for us to make a big play and its not a very high risk to get him the ball.

I wonder if he will still have his brace on this week?

i hope they allow him to return kicks,he is a difference maker asa KR.

I hope so. I've been waiting for a big game from him. You can see when he gets a chance to touch the ball that he is thisclose from breaking a long one. Really, it's just a matter of time and enough touches before he does.

Maybe it will be this week. I also think Bennett might have his breakout game this week. I can see Garrett putting in a lot for him just to throw off the Eagles defense.

If Bennett can prove on a big stage that he is a weapon defenses need to watch then it would help the offense the rest of the season.

They could use Witten to get Bennett more opportunities. But my guess is Witten and Bennett are going to do a lot of blocking in this game. I expect a lot of 2 TE sets with max protection. We will burn them and force them to play us more st8 up. Either that or they will blitz us every down until we stop it.

I think the OP is right.
This matchup should present alot of opportunities for Felix to combat the blitz.
Garrett just needs to implement the non-existent screen play and our fat O-line needs to get out in space and block it.

I seem to recall the kickoff he took to the house vs. Philly.

:D

I think Bennett will continue to do what he has been doing very well. Blocking with a few looks passing.

If Felix gets at least 12 carries he will bring you to your feet at least twice. I've never seen a back that is always so close to breaking big runs. He's got great vision and is excellent at setting up tacklers and making them take poor angles.

I want to see him catch some screens, wheels, and even split wide a few times. Thats the best way to keep Philly's aggressive defense honest IMO. That and pounding the ball right down their throats.

The gameplan should be (this week and the rest of the season) Choice starts with Felix mixed in on 3rd downs. Then Felix starts the 2nd half with Choice and Barber increasingly mixed in on closing drives.

I think Felix needs to be a big part of the game plan. Whenever he is in, the Eagles passrushers may have to hesitate just a touch to read run/pass because of the fear of Jones running right by them and going for a TD.

The other thing I would love is some nice quick screens to Felix against the blitz to let him run in space.

I do think a nice consistent level of production on first down and the avoidance of penalties will be of utmost importance to avoid 3rd and longs where the Eagles pin their ears back better than any other defense in the league.

I think that the TE screen may play a big part in slowing down the Eagles pass rush. The Eagles are a great team at taking away the edge screens. They play disciplined gap responsibility with the outside screen. Where they are susceptible is up the middle on the screen play due to the void left by blitzing linebackers. I could see Witten or Bennett punishing the Eagles with that play.

For Felix to have a coming out party he's going to have to be alot more involved in the offense then what he has been. He's not getting enough carries to get anything going. If he has a nice run or two they stop feeding him the ball. They don't get him involved in the passing game where he would be excellent. He took a screen 30 yards last week and they never looked his way again. Had he not been injured against Carolina a few weeks back he would have had a big game that night. Jerry said they planned on running him 25-30 times against the Panthers. He has the speed and skills to have a huge game if he's given enough opportunities but the Cowboys seem to prefer banging Barber even though he's had a bad wheel for the past month and hasn't shown much burst.

Austin and Crayton should return kicks, imo.

He's far too brittle to handle the burden of 20+ touches. He's able to do a lot with a little, so I don't see the issue with giving him 8-12 touches a game as long as it keeps him healthy.

As for the TE's, I agree with the poster that said they'll be used in the short passing game. Philly has been pretty poor vs. TE's on the year, and I think it'll be a much more effective way of neutralizing their blitzes than having the TE's stay in and block.

I don't think Felix is as brittle as everyone is making him out to be. If the team was worried about him being brittle they wouldn't be using him on kick off returns. Granted he's had some injuries but he didn't enter the NFL with an injury history. Barber has had more injury problems than Felix since he took over as the starter. Barber is having trouble shaking his injuries. I don't want Felix carrying the ball 20+ times every week but he's averaging just under 8 carries a game. The most touches he's had this season in one game is 10 that's not enough. The Cowboys are very slow at getting players involved. Felix Jones should be a bigger part of the offense.

I hope to see a lot of Felix in this game, make them account for him on every play!

I don't know if anyone else saw what I did in the Giants game, but it looked like Felix was just jogging on kick returns.

I agree. Every time they blitz, just have Felix sprint out and hit him with a pass in the flat; then run, Felix, run.
