1st Rd Draft pick vs undrafted player....That makes a huge difference. But seriously, dude is hanging on by a thread, he is the 5th WR. If we go 6 he makes the team, but his 5th spot is still up for grabs. I keep seeing people say this, but how is he quickly becoming a favorite target of Romo?

There have been MANY reports about the chemistry between our own R&B connection (yea i just went there) and supposedly Tony lobbied for the coaches to give Cole more playing time in the offense as the season went on last year.

Stupid comparison, Felix came out early on in his career and lit is up like nobody's business before he got injured. His problem was that despite initially great production (the guy holds the Cowboys single-game post-season rushing record FFS) he wasn't able to be consist and injuries were just part of that.

Cole Beasley if he succeeds will have had the exact opposite career trajectory.

Then I am sure you can easily link many of these reports, right?

Yes, if I am Romo I want to throw to a small target instead of those outsized rookie ruffians Dez and Witten.
I hope more will see the potential of this small, delicate receiver and let us not waste so much time on Dez and Witten when we half the real thing in Mr. Moxie.

As i just showed.. Felix was on the team because he produced when given the ball.. as im betting Cole will, too.
Dont really disagree, but unless there are a bunch of other injuries, I dont see him getting the ball all that much.

Produced? That's debatable.

"Glassman" played through his injuries last year, while your new man-crush sat and watched.

Just sayin..he also produced a combined 5,324 rushing, receiving, and kickoff return yards in 5 years, including 15 touchdowns.

the comparison is idiotic.

I would call that production! Felix didn't pan out the way we had hoped for, but we had to stick with him through his rookie contract.

I agree, but I'm not sure how Felix being somewhat of a glassman relates to Bease. If there's an ex-Cowboy that Beasely should thank for the spot he's in now, it's Amendola

Reading this board, there is no denying that some of our fans have a serious "man crush" on Cole Beasley and I just can't seem to understand why??

What has the kid done but keep our medical trainers busy?

Beasley also quit the team.

When the going gets tough, quit....... as my high school math teacher used to sarcastically chide students.

What do you want to compare? Toughness or stats?

In Felix's second season, his first with substantial carries, he put up a 5.9 ypc on 116 carries.

In Murray's rookie year, he put up 5.5 ypc on 165 carries.

In Felix's third season, 185 carries, 4.3 ypc.

Murray's second season, 161 carries, 4.1 ypc.

Murray's 6 TD's in 2 seasons also puts him right on the same pace as Felix was on of 15 TD's in 5 years..

There you have it.. Felix is better than Murray... just look at those stats.. they tell the whole story.

I will need to see Beasley make some big plays against the big boys and take a few healthy hits without getting injured before awarding him a roster spot. Those spots are at a premium and with a guy like Anthony Armstrong riding the bubble too I would be hard pressed to select a little guy who gets tackled and injured easily...

Cole Beasley will have 700 yards and 5 td's. Book it.

I can see 5 tds......maybe, but there is no way he reaches 700 yards IMO. With Dez, Austin, Witten, Harris, and Williams...I just don't see enough opportunities for our man Beasley to get 700 yards. I can possibly see 400. How many 5th receivers, or 4th for that matter, have ever had 700 yards? Unless all four of our rbs go on IR, it isn't going to happen. I like Beasley, I really do...he has potential, but he is just not going to get enough balls thrown his way to rack up 700 yards.

On the days leading up to the trim to 53, is there anyone out there that still doubts the Bease? This guy is going to be a star in the slot.

Cole Beasley has a ton of potential as a slot receiver. At some point he should get the 3rd spot in our offense. Perhaps if we move on from Austin in a couple years, but that will mean resigning Beasley sooner than later.

Beasley has 15 career catches and 8 of them were for first downs. Its not the greatest percentage but I'm glad we got those first downs as opposed to not. I say keep him.

I still maintain that if Felix had been featured similarly to say Sproles, he would have been a success.

Hes the 5th WR on the roster....... how much do you think Romo is going to throw? Or are you predicting massive injuries to our WR corps?
