Few Pickens nuggets

People have been trying to turn this into a story, but why aren’t there similar stories about all the other players who missed OTAs or minicamps, weren’t practicing at full speed, or were absent for various reasons?

Maybe this should be looked at across the whole league.

Since the season ended, there have been at least 15 different stories about George Pickens, all of them wrong. He signed the tag, he’s not holding out, and there’s no real story here.

He showed up for mandatory camp, which is exactly what he was supposed to do. No one should be giving him extra credit for that.

The media, fans, and content creators should be called out for trying to create drama as if it would turn into another Parsons situation. That offseason was a mess for everyone, but here there’s no problem,

Jerry, Brian Schottenheimer, and even Prescott have said Pickens is in good spirits, working out, and doing fine.

People didn’t believe them, but every step so far has gone as expected.

Everything in between was just noise from those who thrive on drama. I’m not going to praise him for doing his job when he’s making $27.5 million guaranteed, about $1.7 million per game or roughly $200,000 per catch.

He’s under contract, so I fully expect him to deliver.

His agent obviously talked to him, and Pickens listened and understands the situation. That's to his credit.

This year will be about playing good football and rebuilding a reputation.

If he can do that, maybe somebody will commit longer term in the offseason.

He is playing for his football life. If he does well on all sides, (mentally and physically), someone will pick him up. He is an excellent receiver. I like having him because of the double threat he poses. jmho
That's way too much of an exaggeration come on man dude can play football he will have a job for the next 5 plus years how much and how much guarantees and will it be on a full long term deal that's different but he doesn't have to prove to anybody he can play ball He's already was good before he got to the Cowboys now he's great it's not about football it's about his reputation We get it mentally you said it but you're exaggerating he's not desperate to save his football career.

If the Cowboys had their way they sign them on the tag next year for around 32 whatever the tag's going to go up he will have a job for a lot of money That would be two years around 60 million, that's 30 million per year, his "football life" is not in jeopardy.

Very simple get that guaranteed long term deal where you're not having to go through this every offseason he just has to show that he can maintain his comp and be a team guy not the reputation he had from Pittsburgh He's just trying to get rid of that reputation that's it that that has nothing to do with his fall life..

He will have the money he will have the job, but will he get the long-term bill he's looking for that's the only question mark Here...

It's pretty simple look tapping with Brandon Ayuk and San Francisco all that drama to get his deal he finally got it and he gets injured he doesn't want to work to get back to where he should be ,but now it's becoming that is the Parsons drama but the problem is he already got the big deal and now they're trying to get rid of him..

The Cowboys and any other team don't want to end up in that spot it's not the first time and it won't be the last time so they're doing their due diligence..

Every one is acting like he isn’t getting paid! 27 million for one year is really good ! He only made 8 over his career so yeah it’s a hugh raise!
properly invested, not in risky areas, this is more than enough to live on comfortably for the rest of his life.

He is getting $27 million
top Federal Tax Bracket is 37% so that is $10 million
No income tax in Texas so he has $17 million
so IF he were to get a 5% return (which is a very low return but lets just use it)
that is $850,000 a year or over $70,000 a MONTH
If you cannot be comfortable on that you are sick

Exactly. It’s in his best interest to come in and play his best football. It only means a bigger contract next year for him. He has a chance, if he plays at the top of his game this year and stays healthy, to get a huge deal next year. He can change the perception if he wants

George Pickens made it clear to his agent, Mulugheta, that GP is the boss, NOT MULUGHETA! Plus, GP made it clear to Mulugheta to make sure he doesn't screw anything up or get Jerry pissed off because GP wants to stay in Dallas as a Cowboy LONG TERM.

Great news coming from GP! So glad he wants to remain a Dallas Cowboy for a long time. Right now he is gladly doing whatever Jerry is asking of him for whatever reason as long as it means GP is in the Cowboys long term wishes.

A percentage goes to his agent. Plus you pay state taxes based on where you play the game, not where you reside. So half of his games are out of state and he pays tax on them based on what state the game is played in. It's called the "Jock Tax" rule.

Not saying it isn't a lot of money, just that it is not as simple or as much as you made it out to be.

Every off-season, there are stories about players missing OTA's, you just have to open your eyes and read about it....so many on here take Cowboys stories as being personal for this reason. Goodness, the Giants had a controversial player sit out.....you guys are too much woe is me about this team
