I was going to put this thread in the "history" section but it didn't seem to fit and this is Cowboys related so I will put it here. Does anyone remember any scuffles in the past between the Cowboys and other teams throughout the team's history that stands out to you?

One of the ones that comes to mind is back in the 1981 game (I think) where we played against the Bucs and their peach uniforms (lol). Randy White got into it with a player and tackled him and started wailing on his face. Does anyone else remember this?

Another time was when Danny White and Tony Dorsett were involved with another team. What I remember is down by the goal line someone knocked over one of our players and Danny White rushed in and knocked the cuprit or it was Danny White who was knocked down. I thought it was Danny who came in there and knocked the guy down.

Anyway, those are the two that stand out the most to me. Perhaps some here can clarify these two situations or add to them.

Thanks.:)

I loved seeing Jerry Rice lose his cool before we kicked their ace in the 93 championship game and almost getting in a fight with Kevin Smith (I think?). I believe someone grabbed a photographers tripod or some object and starting swinging it like a weapon.

Good times....

Funny you should mention that. I saw that in a trivia question not too long ago.

yeah James Washington grabbed a tripod, but I'm not sure it was against the forty whiners.

The I one I remember the most was in training camp, Flo attacked and beat the heck out of Torrin Tucker. Larry Allen saved his life by thrwoing Flo off of him. Of course LA let Flo have a little fun before breaking them up.

I remember Roger S. taking a swing at a Commanders player. Don't remember the year.

I believe it was against the giants.

I remember Jerry losing his cool before that Championship Game cause he got an unsportsmanlike for that. The only reason I remember him getting the penalty is cause Jimmy mentioned it on "America's Game" that I watched about that 93 season on NFL Network.

I seem to remember a story about a backup QB in Dallas (Longly maybe) punching Roger Staubach in the back of the head and attacking him from behind, at practice, out of frusturation over not being able to replace Roger in the lineup.

Wasnt there a fight between a Commanders and cowboys player a few years back where they both had eachothers facemasks and were just throwing punches under the facemask.

I live in VA and have attended every cowboys game when they play here since I was a little kid. I remember being at RFK and cowboys walking through their stretching lines and always starting little scuffles when they went back to the lockerroom after team warm-ups.

I loved the little girly fight between Deion Sanders (49ers) and Andre Rison (Falcons) at the line of scrimmage. That was classic!

Emmitt Smith vs. Reggie Swinton (our WR/punt returner) during practice, sometime during the Campo era.

Michael Irvin and Reggie White got in each other's faces and nearly traded blows at the end of the Cowboys 21-6 win over Green Bay on MNF... it was the game in which Chris Boniol kicked 7 FGs, the last of which came on the final play of regulation to set (or tie?) the record, and that is what set Reggie off.

And of course, who could forget T.O. vs. George "Defender of the Star" Teague.

I remember Harvey Martin roughing up Conrad Dobler once and I was so pumped to see that because it was usually Dobler who was roughing people up or cheapshotting them. Harvey got him on the ground and stuck his foot right through his face mask. Was never even penalized. The ref just got him off him and that was it. LOVED Harvey Martin - this current team needs a dose of that nastiness.

Imagine if Spears played with that kind of emotion.

The all time scuffle is of course Clint Longley sucker punching Roger Staubach in Training Camp, because he felt if he got out from under Roger's shadow he would be a star himself.

Reportedly he told Charlie Waters he knew what he had to do to get traded. Charlie asked him what, and he said "you'll find out this afternoon." He and Roger had got into a shouting match over some comment Longley made about Drew Pearson a couple of days before.

Roger had told people he would "knock those Bugs Bunny teeth" out of Clint's mouth.

Danny White was assigned to distract Assistant Coach Dan Reeves who they knew would break up the fight. Roger was removing his shoulder pads when Clint Longley sucker punched him right in the face.

Bad move. This is quoted by Danny White.

"They put me in charge of distracting Dan Reeves so he wouldn't break up the fight. I started trying to make stuff up to talk to him about and then we looked back up the hill and Roger was just wailing on Clint."

Wasn't the James Washington tripod thing against the Commanders? I thought it was. I remember one time when I was a kid my dad took me to the game and John Dutton ripped Conrad Dobler's helmet off and was swinging it at him. Good times.

AS Jim Croce once said, "You don't tug on Superman's cape."
