Hey, Perez, unless you have a wiretap to their bedroom, you know zero about their marriage.

The tabloids say Brangelina is in trouble, too, which is all the basis you have for your opinion on Jennifer Aniston's marriage.

It might be but just about everyone would admit Angelina is a huge upgrade over Jenny poo.

In any event, the assertion was a sex scene in a movie ruined Jenny's marriage and that is just ridiculous.

Ya think? I'll give him credit though....if what he does is an act, and done solely to provoke a response....he's infinitely better at it than most.

I wouldn't expect you to be able to distinguish the difference between having disdain for someone and actually giving a damn what they think. That concept, like most, is far beyond your ability. Maybe one day your kid can explain it to you...if he's not to busy disrespecting you.

As far as being smarter than you...well, that's obvious. I also enjoy smelling better than the stinky kid in class, and getting laid more than Bob Sacamano...but these things (much like being smarter than you) go without saying. ;)

Carry on canadian! Your value here, while somewhat vague and similar to that of a over dressed gay Howard Stern with his GED framed in his sig, is appreciated!

Dude you're mad. Jolie has no *** and only looks good under lights and with too much makeup.

The last time Angelia looked good was back in her early years of acting like Gia and such then she became a plastic botax walking actress. She is way over rated and is not that good looking anymore

Well for someone who claims not to care, you sure do post enough in response to what I write

It is clear you are mentally challenged, that is fine. We all have our roles to play on this planet. Yours is fake toughness and intellect.

It was very original for its time and has just been copycatted to death over the last 30 years.

I still watch it almost every year and never ceases to put a creepy feeling in my spine. John Carpenter is a great director. Halloween and The Thing are two of my all-time favourite movies. Both of these movies have aged extremely well.
Great post and I agree 100% with everything you mentioned. You will be hard-pressed finding a bigger fan of his remake of The Thing than I.

Carpenter is a very good conceptional director, who, unfortunately, has had to work with some very small budgets. I would add his Escape From New York among his better films. Carpenter and Kurt Russell had a very good director/actor partnership.

He's not perfect, though. I had great hopes for Prince Of Darkness, but it was a touch too campy for its plot. Even so, it had a great theme in my opinion.

Two things here:

1) It's a common meme that America's movie rating system is backwards (compared to Europe's) because of the perceived leeway it grants to violence and its more reserved attitudes towards sex. In my opinion, the two aren't comparable; the compulsions the viewer feels when watching a sex scene are markedly different from those felt when watching Michael Myers slice and dice his way through a horde of vapid, brain-dead teens.

2) I'm amazed by the posters who are so quick to criticize Mr. McDonough. All he's done is make a stand against what he considered an inappropriate sex scene, not all depictions of sex.

Some of his later efforts definitely left a lot to be desired. However, few of us ever execute one truly great idea in our life so I'm not going to hold it against him.

BTW, good reference back to Escape to New York. I haven't seen that in 25 years. I need to rent it again. I think there was a sequel a few years back but I never bothered to watch it.

Your instincts were correct. Carpenter didn't nearly capture the same intrigue and suspense with ETLA as he did with ETNY. It's one of the instances where the sequel fell short of matching or succeeding the original.
