Tony Romo led the Cowboys to their first playoff appearance since 2009 with a 12-4 record during the regular season. After defeating the Lions led by Stafford, the Cowboys lost to the Packers in the NFC Divisional round with the controversial “catch-not-catch” call on Dez Bryant. During the 2014 season Romo was the most efficient with the football in his entire career due to an outstanding wide receiver corp featuring Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams along with an offensive line that was the best in football. In this breakdown, we will go over some of Romo’s top touchdowns from the 2014 season while making observations about the rest of his 38 touchdowns during the regular season and postseason play.

I re-watched the Colts game last night and the throw he makes to Witten down the seam for a TD in the second half was just sick. Talk about threading a needle.
At the time he was 18-19 for 225 and 3 TD's.

Now get back on the bus and drive LOL!

20 tds > 20 yards

So much for being a game manager.

Those plus 20 yards TD's has increased because of Scott Linehan. His play calling has brought the safety down. Which has opened up not just the deep ball in which we still don't throw a lot but still more then before, it has allowed more one on one's with the corners. Our wide receivers broke more tackles for TD's last year then I can remember ever happening before.

Before last season we all wanted to run the ball more and was worried that still won't happen after the hiring of Linehan. For him to change up his play calling tendencies to match our personal has really impressed me.

At first I was a little upset that the article favors Romo's weapons over his ability as a QB (although it does mention his elusiveness). My opinion is that Romo made a bad team look good (porous OL, no running game for a few years, a period between TO & Dez and a good list of meh receivers), but he is positively elite when the rest of the offense is helping out.

Something we didn't talk much about last year - you didn't see a whole lot of angry Romo getting onto other teammates for wrong routes, wrong protection schemes, etc. The rest of the offense finally held up its end of the bargain.

Yep - especially in late november, december, teams began STACKING the box with a safety and manning up. LOL at manning up on our WRs. Traditionally Romo has gone into the end of the season with defenses playing cover 2 and blitzing here and there to cause mistakes. They no longer had that luxury.

Offense has stepped up to elite. Time for the defense to follow suit and we will have a Super Bowl

I think our offense will necessarily regress slightly this year. We'll likely get a little more production out of the passing game, but there is just no way the running game will be as dominant.

That said, I think we made moves on defense that balance it out very nicely. If we get a pass rush going and our defense can be top 10-15, we have a great opportunity this season.

This team, offensively, will go as far as the OL takes it.

Just. Like. Last year..................

Our offense is very balanced. People know about the O-line and Dez, but there are other players who are ready to break out into Pro Bowl caliber players. Terrance Williams is one guy I can think of. He played great at the end of the year. That would be something if he could take some pressure off Dez. Witten is still a favorite of Romo, but he's declining and I'd really like to see Escobar step up and take some of the pressure off of him. Beasley is starting to become that shifty slot receiver that's been tearing up the league these past few years. Now, we just need a RB. I really hope Randle can be that guy. Murray is a great RB but a lot of his success was due to the O-line. I've seen flashes from Randle that would suggest that he could have similar success behind this O-line.

Joseph Randle stepping up is in our best interest, especially considering he is under contract for two more seasons.

elite QB doing elite QB stuff i love it. only a blind man will say that Romo isn't elite.

^ This is a correct observation which I wish more fans would take note of.
