They're not betting on anything that's your opinion that doesn't mean this guy can't be coached and can get better....He was also just really bad at tackling. 38% tackle rate.
He is aggressive and athletic but plays too high for a backer and had terrible technique.
Dallas is betting on his overall athleticism and being able to dial in technique.
He was one of the best coverage LB in the country and I am pretty sure year 1 is all about 3rd down Mike duties and STs.
Well as much as that makes a lot of sense and people don't like anything that makes sense around here,Commentators, like this video creator, have been pushing the family relationship between Marist Liufau and Puka Nacua. He emphasized it by using examples like the Bosa brothers, Diggs brothers and Watts brothers. There is a difference between those relationships with Liufau and Nacua, who are cousins. Family relationships are more the exception than typical as far as transitioning from the college level to the NFL and making a pro level impact.
That said, I hope Liufau belongs in the exception category. His cousin took the opportunity of Cooper Kupp's slow return to the Los Angeles Rams starting lineup and literally exploded onto the scene during his rookie season. Nacua is a solid, all-around NFL WR. Mike Zimmer's defense gained a sure asset if Liufau can play at or above the level of his cousin in his rookie season, albeit at a totally different position.
"Just" another?so he is just another Lawrence.
You do know getting another DLaw would be a home run, right?so he is just another Lawrence.
Right now he is a rover who can hit and cover. As an NFL LB, he doesn't have tje needed skills right now. Really struggled to tackle. Its a pick the coaches/scouts must have seen development traits that can turn him into a better pro than he was as a college playerIt's been pretty well documented how much he was misused at ND last year.
He’s a highly intelligent linebacker with a nose for the ball and the physicality to punish running backs and receivers who dare to sneak out underneath. His hot motor will energize the Cowboys’ defense. Liufau is going to surprise those who have been questioning this draft pick. The Cowboys valued him over RB and accepting offers to trade down both. That speaks volumes about how they feel about him.
Lol, “just” eh?so he is just another Lawrence.
lawrence was nothing special. run defender. average pass rusher. over paid with 120M over 7 years."Just" another?
sorry, Lawrence was nothing special. he was above average DE. who got paid at elite level and didn't produce. You do know getting another DLaw would be a home run, right?
Especially if we keep Parsons for another 5 to 10 years on the opposite side.
What we would need is better DT play
Lol above average....didn't produce....sorry, Lawrence was nothing special. he was above average DE. who got paid at elite level and didn't produce.
misleading as I watched the guy. but some people thinks stats always tell the whole storyTo counterbalance this take, Louis Riddick LOVED the Marist pick.
So, there is some juice there, but those tackle numbers are firm stats not projections.
so what did lawrence do to make him a top 10 DE in the league. name the top 10 DEs in the league.Lol above average....didn't produce....
Can't make this stuff up.
LOL Man you just move goal posts randomly to suit your agenda don't you?so what did lawrence do to make him a top 10 DE in the league. name the top 10 DEs in the league.
go, I give you a couple of weeks. you seem to have some challenges.
so that was my question to you. you LOL when I called him above average.LOL Man you just move goal posts randomly to suit your agenda don't you?
Where did I say he was top 10?
Don't speak another word to me until you can produce me saying that. I am not up for intellectual dishonest goal post moving nonsense.
So, I didn't say he was top 10?so that was my question to you. you LOL when I called him above average.
so trying to establish what's in your mind about him. you are the one that laughed
so he is not top 10. that's progress. you agreed.
so is he better than above average?
don't speak another word to me until you can describe what you are saying about him as opposed to just disagreeing with my opinion of him.
you have no goal post. you seem to just want to argue. if that's the case. then so be it.
The Cowboys disagree. They knew he would last until their 5th. And they had offers to trade down and didn't. They really wanted him badly. They had a 3rd round grade on him and when their turn came up late in the 3rd they jumped on him. It's reasonable to think he was drafted too early.
