I have a hard time believing Free is going to playing OG with the current OT's. I can't see Weems as the swing tackle on the active roster.

Free would likely still be the swing tackle. If Parnell or Smith go down, we'll likely have Bernadeu take Free's spot at RG and Free would go to tackle.

Nick Hayden, Landon Cohen and George Selvie all made it, which makes defensive lineman the top priority in next year's draft.

Interesting moves keeping 5 TE's and going light on CBs....could be interesting especially with MO having a bad knee....uuuHM How about keeping both Livings and Weems.
Someone must think Livings is gonna play this year, thought he was a sure bet for a IR spot and what about Weems.....WOW.....thats interesting... dont understand keeping that dude.....

I dont think the roster is set yet...,expect more changes in the next 24 to 48 hours ,,,,

I'm not sold on Selvie yet but I'm intrigued. Hayden I think is a player. Others like Cohen. I don't see doom and gloom on the DL but I'm concerned. If they see a first rate quick DT or pass rushing DE esp strong side capable then my guess they go that way early. We'll see.

Surprised by Andre Smith. (some posters guessed 5 TE) But, I am reminded that Hall of Famer Rayfield Wright started his stellar Cowboy career as a Tight End.

Actually that doesn't sound bad lol, I really hope Parnell holds up though

Maybe they are livings to heal before cutting him. Maybe a settlement is coming with him once we find another guard.

He is probably temporary.

It'll be interesting to see how we play without Ratliff the initial 6 games of the season with journeymen types on the defensive line. I can see one guy as a hold the fort type but keeping that many indicates it's a weakness.

Looks like an extremely weak group to me. Sucks about Crawford and Ratliff.

I can't imagine much of an interior pass rush over four quarters.

I can already see ware getting doubled and pushed up the field while manning steps up into a clean pocket and attacks the open spots in the zone defense.

A tad surprised about keeping Smith. Not surprised about Weems just dismayed. They may look to add a T and put Weems on the PS but I think they just go with that. DL not a surprise. Thought a true CB would make it over Smith. Heck I didn't think they'd keep 5 TEs period to be honest. Frampton I believe can play S or CB. Not sure though.

There will be some changes coming IMO.

I think Cohen may be the play until Ratliff gets back guy. That's a position they will be looking to upgrade although that might be a difficult task.

I'm calling ST coach a potential bust.

He needed two aged vets who do nothing but play STs with neither of them being a returner. We also seem to have kept 5 TEs but one of whom may be primarily a STer in Rosario. We were supposed to be using more regulars on STs meaning less dedicated ST players but this looks like more than ever.

He better put up some good units given how much latitude he has been given in the final roster.

I also strongly disagree with keeping Livings who is degenerative and cannot even hold up to practice on the final 53 over keeping a guy like Kowalski or Moore

Well considering Beasley is not a ST player looks like they needed to keep an extra guy who can play ST and this is the problem I have with Beasley and that 5th WR spot. I fully believe that spot should be a guy who can play in a pinch but also is a good St player. IMO this is the expense of keeping Beasley over another WR who could play ST

Im pretty sure EJTheDJ already made this thread.. but the safety group won't be that large for long, imo.

Beasley didn't make the team keep 5 TE's or 6 Safeties.. that's a seperate decision. I don't think either of those numbers will last though.

The giants tried to trade Austin today, I wonder if we talked to them at all.

For instance I wonder if we offered Moore for Austin or something similar.

My point is that In the past we've had other WR playing special teams. We kept an extra special teams guys because Beasley can't. That's my point

I think this st coach is using different positions to cover spots.

I don't think Beasley had anything to do with it. Ironically he is probably the emergency punt returner.

I understand that.. although he has been returning kicks for us in preseason.

I just don't think the fact that he doesn't play on ST's units affected the numbers kept at any other position.
