Weems has to be the biggest surprise, followed closely by 5 TE and 6 Safeties... maybe we really were worried about Special Teams and thought that we needed both Frampton and McCray

I've been thinking Frampton can play safety but I may be wrong or thinking about someone else.

Also keep in mind DBs have to tackle in this defense. CBs have the 8 hole and must support the 5.

Five tight ends for now. I wonder if a Dante Rosario-to-New England trade is in the works....

5 TE's and only 5 linebackers hmmm. I guess only 5 linebackers on our team was worth keeping anyways,

My point is that In the past we've had other WR playing special teams. We kept an extra special teams guys because Beasley can't. That's my point

Bro I hear ya but here's the deal - yeah in a perfect world the 5th WR is a special teams ace. But first and foremost we need our best 5 WRs out there. Beasley is clearly among that top 5 easily. In fact until Williams is more seasoned you could argue that RIGHT NOW Beasley is the 3rd or 4th best WR on the team. Miles is always a hammy pull away from the bench, Dez plays very physical and could and probably will miss snaps in games. And we have a WR who excels in special teams in Harris the 2nd best punt returner in the league last year.

Beasley is needed and isn't going anywhere. The offensive guys love him including the leaders Romo, Witten and Dez. So I urge you to sit back relax and embrace the mystery of The Beas and feel the love!

Weems is a high upside type player. He is big, strong and quick. Technique is his problem.

This is the type of player that they should be keeping. You don't want all of the backups to be physically limited players like Phil Costa.

They have only kept 3 OTs the past 2 years with Parnell being the Swing Tackle. This year they still have the same 3, but the chance for injury is just a little higher if all 3 are starting (Free at Guard). They still don't have to have a Swing Tackle on game-day because in the event of an injury, they still have 2 OTs. Free would just move to OT if one of the other 2 was injured. Bernadeau would replace Free at Guard. Bottom line, Weems will probably be active if Free plays Guard, but it's not a requirement.
