Really, there are a few guys we passed on that I would of liked, but then again, 31 other teams passed on them as well. I'm not afraid to admit, most of my targets went MUCH later then what I projected. I never have been this far off in any draft which leads me to believe this was a much weaker draft then I thought. I just can't grade it because I was so far off from the start.

Early grade: B
I like the emphasis on special teams (a major weakness) and pass rush. Even though we increased our sacks last season, I still wasn't impressed with our lack of pass rush in critical moments last year. Just based on potential, we certainly addressed this area. And I'm really impressed by what I read about Jason Williams.
We got possibly a steal in Mickens (assuming he's healthy and can stay healthy)
We get a backup QB to groom. We draft a safety, though he doesn't seem to be a true free safety, which is what we need. And I'm really not surprised the Cowboys didn't reach to add many OLmen, considering our dismal draft record in that department.
The biggest factor in my grade is that Jerry Jones brought in a bunch of fresh, hungry guys who love football and have good character. The message is being sent to the veterans: No more fat-cats who simply are here to collect a pay check. We have hungry guys who want your job so play up to your potential.
Jerry wasn't satisfied with sitting on a team full of talent. Despite the complaints about drafting "special teamers," he is bringing in guys who want to play and who want to make an impact.

On talent alone, that was an A draft class. No one knew Roy Williams would digress. Gurode is playing well. AB has the talent he was just a head case, and so was Derek Ross.
We didn't seem to draft any head cases this time. So if this group is anywhere as talented as that draft class, an A grade looks nice.

I give it a B+ (including RW11). It wasn't as sexy as last year's draft, but then again, we weren't in a position to have a draft like last year's.

We will be lucky if 4 of these players are still on the roster 3 years from now. Some are projects and there is now a serious numbers crunch at LB and DB. When we draft 6-8 players in the next 2-3 drafts, most of these guys will get moved out. Thats why we should have moved up a few times to get 2-3 guys that can stick longterm and then filled out the special teams.

If a grade must be assessed I'd say a B- to C+ is the best but no lower than a solid C.
