I can live with this ........just not sure they would wait and address the G position with a day-3 pick. We need that position addressed way more than DT.
The guard class isn't great, even the top prospects who are more solid then elite. Mafi is a mauler, who needs to work on his technique as a pass protector. The same issues we heard about Tyler when he was drafted. If he was the so called want to, think he will see the field much earlier. Still believe they are going to start their best 5 and have options when Tyron goes down.

There's going to be a similar outpouring of love as there was last year if its not Wright!!!....someone's not reading the positional value memo.
There were just 3 on that island loving the Tyler Smith pick and I was one of them. With a class lacking elite players, you would have to think Tackles are going to be pushed up, it is possible Wright even goes 1st at the position.

I remember you were and my comment was more a reflection if the pick isn't Wright. From the way the narrative about positional value over actual players is being touted then you can imagine if we go RB, G, TE or LB (even though he provides another variation on the pass rush).

I am only messing with you. Any prospect the Cowboys seem to be linked to in early April always jumps up boards. I think McDonald is going before Ness and the Clemson defensive end. I think Forbes is the 3rd corner taken. I don’t think a consensus 1st round prospect makes it to 26 unless you count Gibbs as one.
My top targets still remain: Forbes/McDonald, Kincaid or Mayer. I believe Mayer/Kincaid are the ones who will be close to our pick.

1-Michael Mayer TE Notre Dame
2-Zach Charbonnet RB UCLA
3-Jaquelin Roy DT LSU
4-Antonio Mafi G UCLA
5-Mekhi Gardner CB LSU
6-Clayton Tune QB Houston
7-Braden Willis TE/FB Oklahoma

Think we can expect a heavy, offensive draft, especially focused on fixing their run game and being able to become more balanced.
I like your selections I have a question about Mafi The guard? I hear he’s pretty slow footed strong as hell and I would like to select somebody a little more agile maybe by the third round. But yeah I’m with you we got this class we’re good. I’d like to add a little caveat about value selection and high positive results. I know there is a dog mom about getting value for every pic even with the low value of the draft later turns out to be a great pic their against t. That’s insane dogma

Kincaid is the wild card. If he goes in the top 15. Mayer not gonna make it to 26.

My question on Kincaid would be, how is he ranked in pretty much the same grading range as most of the WR's outside of JSN when his blocking is described as poor?
Is this a reflection on his receiving abilities or the WR class?

I don’t see how the Cowboys would have Mayer ahead of Washington but you never know.
It's easy to see. If they want to take a TE at 26 but want that guy to be able to help Dak almost immediately, the pick is easily Mayer. He's ready to play now. Washington is an unknown as a pass catcher.

Granted, I have no idea what they are thinking but the reality is there is a logic there that would lead Dallas to take Mayer over Washington. Frankly, I am hoping we don't go TE at all at 26.

I don’t know brother. My issue with Kincaid is he did not test. I want to know how athletic he is. Whipping USC is not enough for me.

Brother nobody on this board is going to agree on the Cowboys pick. I think they will trying to decide what second round pick to take at 26 because this draft is so weak.

I read that Mafi is a former rugby player and is pretty quick footed despite his size. He is new to the position and has to learn the proper technique, footwork, leverage, etc..

I wouldn’t love it but seems realistic for what the Cowboys could do.

My favorite picks are rounds 6 and 7. Love Willis!

You got to think what we have seen this offseason, 3 out of the first 4 picks lean towards offense: 1 weapon, RB, G. I toyed with adding a 3rd rd corner like Rush and then Macy in the 5th who is that strong side DE/3T type of defensive lineman. Not a huge fan of Gardner, but I know the Cowboys have shown strong interest.

It is quite possible both are off the board. I think your TE-Washington goes somewhere in the top 50, but won't be a 1st rd pick.

Possibly. I want McDonald/Forbes:angry:What is your take on the Arkansas linebacker pass rusher? The Draft show thinks Quinn likes him.
