Final play before halftime, oh so close

The safety had an interception after the reflection from cook . Penalty grabbing the receiver. But when we went for it on fourth down they tackled Cooper . No penalty. This stuff just drives me crazy. I’m not blaming what I am doing is saying can you give me some full-time referees and get rid of these part time people

Since they're was basically no time left, I ran to the restroom and in was walking back and heard the huge road from the crowd... had no idea what happened. I would have been pissed had they scored and I missed it.

If Fassel had not called for a punt block we could have had a nice drive to end the half - what a moron!
I don't get this. Are you saying teams should never go for a punt block? Because it's not Fassel's fault the players screwed it up.

The booth also jinxed the punt/roughing the punter penalty. Nantz said this is the first punt of the game and Romo said not yet.
Romo said "not yet" because the Chargers lined up in a strange formation, with the punter in shotgun QB position. Looks like they didn't really show it on TV, but I was in the stadium going, "what the heck is this?" They shifted out to the regular punting formation right after.

We should have thrown a hail mary. I hated the play call because it appeared to just be a quick pass with the expectation SD was going to quickly shut it down and the teams would be headed into the locker room. If you look at Zeke, he was giving up until Lamb made an individual play to get into space, which led to the excitement but SD was in no danger of giving up the score with having only the goal line to defend. It was a stat padding play.
I like the play in part because it gives more opportunities for the defense to commit a penalty and extend the half. PI is never called on a Hail Mary after all.

I think he's saying that it was not a good situation in which to go for the block. The offense has been carving SD up all day.. Give them a chance in the two minute offense to put points on the board.. It was an unnecessary risk IMHO and it handed the Chargers a scoring opportunity they did not earn.

It was a close game - 2 minutes to go in the half. I don't want them having any chance to get the ball back so I play that situation to get the ball with 2 minutes to go and score running out the clock.

No chance for a bad penalty like that and give them the ball.

I did not realize.

Why was Zeke in on that play anyway? Why wasn’t the faster Pollard who is better in the open field used?
