Peppers tested positive for a diluted sample at the combine per Schefter. He'll fall into round two where I still dont want him.

That would be something to get Mcdowell and Peppers. Throw in Jourdan lewis in the 3rd and I would be doing backflips.

Let me put a caveat on this. I'd love Peppers at 60 IF this is just a small blip on his radar here. If it's discovered he's got a Gregory type problem with the dope, hell no. I am done taking that risk. Gregory was essentially an addict. If Peppers is just a casual user who ***** up here, fine.

One thing I like about him is disruptive at LDE in the vein that Peppers and Strahan were in the early mid 2000's. He can be your RDE, but if a smaller pass rusher comes to us, he can be a major force on the left side as well. People talk down on the LDE position and forget thats where Julius Peppers and Michael Strahan spent much of there careers. A truely dominant LDE may be even rarer and more valuable then a RDE

Also, when you're a team like the Cowboys that doesn't have a DE capable of applying consistent pressure, you can't really complain what side the pressure comes from. I don't care if the d lineman we take is 240 lbs or 320, I just want someone that can consistently make the opposing QB feel uncomfortable. As of right now I have very little faith in any of our DE's being able to do that.

Now they've got me wondering if the Cowboys could somehow pull off a trade after round one and end up with both "deluded samples" in Peppers and Foster?

Two potential first round talents who fell because of something they may or may not have done?

Would they dare risk it?

He checks all the boxes. Except the one between the ears.
The one between the ears is one of the biggest ones that teams miss out on.

The tape matters a lot, but the mental part of the NFL is what makes a lot of these college players fizzle out.

And I feel you listened to today's press conference, intangibles are higher than ever on their watch list. A guy with a questionable attitude and motor won't be on that list, no matter how talented he is.

Hopefully they learn that.

You would think it did not take a Prescott situation to do it.

There have been a lot of other players like that over the years that Jerry Jones has gambled on their ability and lost because they were mentally off.

Any dumb*** that smokes week or does drugs period before a job interview (combine) has to be an addict. Only other explanation would be the a complete utter idiot.

I just dont want Peppers with a high pick because I have a feeling he turns out to be a better athlete than football player.

It's a huge factor they're talking up with Jaylon Smith as well. Would be a complete reversal of course to now draft McDowell.
