To be honest Dallas played sloppy and still beat a very sensationalized team that had lost to Oakland, struggled against the hapless Commanders and crushed the imploding Giants.

Beating Philly is always nice, but they were no juggernaut despite what the media hyped them to be.

Atlanta is a better team than Philly.

You cannot use the fact the Eagles lost to the Raiders as a barometer of how hard it is to win at a division game at the Linc. I agree they still need to cut out some of the dumb penalties (TNew kicking the ball to China) however the team played hard, stayed composed and won a big game.

As far as the secondary goes, they were lights out for the most part. Jenkins is a player.

I was over at the Philly boards and they were laughing hysterically at the thought of Mike Jenkins and Newman stopping their receivers. Even asking who the hell Mike Jenkins is. I think they know now.

PLEASE.. I need the primary philly board(s) to look at.. need a link..

I agree--if you contain Philly and don't let them race out to a lead--they are very beatable--we just beat on them and wore them out

I think the Eagles quite clearly live off the big play. They struggle to execute on drawn-out drives, though they did have one terrific such drive tonight. But the other times? Not much. McNabb simply isn't a precise enough passer to be that kind of manager. He's a big-play-or-not-much kind of guy.

I agree and credit Wade Phillips for the putting together the game plan to stop that big play offense. Wade said last week what they needed to do to stop Philly big strike and the team did just that.

the Cowboys played sloppy on defense ( other than a couple of break downs, which happen to every team ). They had a game plan and executed it brilliantly. They basically told Philly that we're going to give you the middle for passes, we're going to stop your running game with our front 7, and we're going to use our safeties to support our CBs. Your move.

Phillie's response ? What the Cowboys expected:

Frustration and non-execution. ( remember that the Beagles' biggest play of the night on offense came on a well times screen )

What probably most people didn't recognize was a chart put up by NBC at the begining of the game that showed the Beagles as the #1 team with TD drives of 4 plays or less ( 14 ) while being the last team with TD drives of 5 plays or more ( 1 ). That was the key to the Cowboys' game plan and Wade Phillips deserves a hell of alot credit for that. They, basically, let the Beagles know that if they're going to score, they're going to have to drive it down the field without making any mistakes.

Beagles have done that exactly ONE time this entire season.

Outstanding job by everyone.
