The Eagles is a fraud.
Got this from igglesphan board.
However he should have used the team name instead of Reid. It is not Reid sucks, it is the whole team....
The truth about Big Red(it's not pretty)"
Hi, I'm a long time reader, first time poster. Anyway, I did
some qucik research about Reid's record against good teams
and coaches and what I found is not good. Thought the board
might be interested in seeing the facts laid out rather
clearly. Anyway, hopefully you all find this interesting:
Since 2000 when the Eagles became good again, Reid is 6-13
against the following coaches: Gruden, Shanahan, Belichik,
Cowher, Holmgren, Fox, Fisher and Payton in NO. Or about a
.300 winning pct 6-13!
Since 2003, Reid is 2-9 against Gruden, Belichik, Cowher,
Shanahan, Holmgren, Fox and Payton. Or about a .180 winning
pct. 2-9!
Here's Reid's record broken down against the individual
coach:
Gruden(both OAK and TB)1-4
Belichik 0-2
Shanahan 0-1
Jeff Fisher 0-2
Cowher 1-1
Holmgren 2-1
Fox 2-1(but the one loss was the 14-3 NFCC)
Payton 0-1
Total: 6-13(0-3 in the Playoffs/Super Bowl including 2 home
losses)
Against the 3 coaches who have WON Super Bowls since Reid's
been coach of the Eagles(Gruden, Belichik and Shanahan) Reid
is a combined 1-7, or a .125 winning pct. Again, 1-7 against
SB winnning coaches.
The bottom line, against good teams and especially good
coaches, and SB winning coaches, Reid has been awful. He's
built his record up by beating all the bad teams that are in
the NFL and by being lucky to have been in an awful
division(the NFC East) from 2000-2004. If you've noticed,
once the division started to get good again last year, the
Eagles have gone south.
By comparison, when Buddy/Kotite coached the Eagles the NFC
East won the SB 6 out of 8 years. 7 out of 10 if you include
the Rhodes era. Every other team in the division(DAL, WAS,
NYG)won MULTIPLE Super Bowls. IOW, the division was far and
away the best in the League. Since Reid's been here, only
the NYG have even gotten to the SB from the division and they
got smoked by BAL.
So during Buddy/Kotite, the NFC East was 6-0 in the SB and
won them all by an avg of more than 20 pts. They were 7-0 if
you include the Ray Rhodes era. Reid's been lucky to take
advantage of extremely weak competition.
Look at the coaches Reid's beaten in the playoffs. Tony
Dungy in TB, Mike Sherman in GB, Mike Tice in MIN, Jim Mora
Jr in ATL, Dick Jauron in CHI. 3 of them have since been
fired and Dungy can't win the big games in IND, just like he
couldn't in TB. Reid has NEVER beaten a good team/coach in a
big game. Never. And two of the losses were at home.
In reality, much of Reid's success has been a fraud. Beating
up on the bad teams and taking advantage of a weak division
and a weak NFC generally, but always failing when he has to
play a good team with a good coach(see the SB and the NFC
Championship games). He lucked out having been given a good
defense with Rhodes' players(Dawkins, Trotter, Vincent,
Taylor) and by having the division be the worst in football
in the early part of the decade, full of idiots ike Dave
Campo and Steve Spurrier.
The above facts are pretty indisputable and when you look at
them, they really stare you in the face.
Feel free to discuss this. It really is amazing when you
look at the facts.
