Fire Eberflus, Please

Al would have been a great choice. He has the tools, he may be a position coach by choice. I don't know...
I'm just saying people are picking who they want to be their coaches just like we pick players you know the pet cats we get I don't mean they're going to be successful I mean it's possible but it also can go the other way his inexperience by fully running a staff it could get exposed. There's no way to know this we just keep throwing names out there that doesn't mean it's going to work..

We just need a defensive coordinator that's willing to run many different defensive fronts and schemes not be stubborn and only want to run his unless they're desperate.. Did not know Matt was going to be so stubborn and unwilling to be aggressive if anything else that's all we want is him to throw everything he can at the offensive stay in the game enough to where our offense can function..

For example I mean if you look at the 2023 debacle we had the In the playoffs against Green Bay we got destroyed but even at halftime you still have hope no matter what happened in the first half you have hope until your defense runs out and allows three straight touchdowns after halftime there's no way to get back in that game...

And we watched the same thing happened in the Lions versus the San Francisco playoff game same exact weekend I believe in the same playoffs The 49ers laid an egg in the first half they were completely down by about the exact score we were down or at least this differential was the same except their team after halftime made enough adjustments to stay in the game keep the game close and all of a sudden at the end of the game they came back and won that's the difference..

Other teams have found a way to dig themselves out of holes in games hours it's it's like it's snowballs and it never stops....

But at the very least that's what we need from Matt right now is to be aggressive and try to force mistakes and errors and eventually punts or at minimum field goals instead of easy touchdowns and let our offense have a chance to get back in it....

I know Al, haven't talked to him in many years, but I know he would make a great coordinator....being a former player, he may not want the position, knowing what sacrifices it takes. 90 hour work weeks isn't for everyone....especially if you don't have to do it. That's why I retired at 50. 14 straight years of it, was enough.

Not questioning he seems like a great guy and a really good coach but that doesn't mean he would be able to fix the Cowboys defense not in one offseason I think that's what we're skipping over here I don't like Matt's soft defense I don't like his being stubborn and not one of the least take what he has here and try to make the best of it but I think it would take any new hire more than one off season to get rid of some players and get the ones he needs onto the team...

I never said, one season, didn't even say they should bring him in. I was just agreeing with a poster and Siad he would have been my choice. To much back and forth for that comment.

I didn't think I'd write this......but Eberflus is being asked to make a 5-star meal with pork & beans and vienna sausages.
At this point, I think people are asking for something that would pass for a frozen tv dinner.

I wouldn't be upset if they did fire him but at the same time I also understand why they have it but I would not be shocked if they put out another clunker like really bad another 40 point game against this defense, cost us a game..

Jerry has a weird use of the bye week that's when he usually makes the most moves where there is time to adjust to it they're not playing for a week especially with two Monday games back to back sandwiched into the bye week in between he might fire Matt if he does that again I mean if it looks that bad and we lose a game especially at home It wouldn't surprise me if he fired him..

That way he elevates somebody in the bye week from the team maybe Sorenson and gives him some time to adjust also to add these injured players back plus maybe make an addition off the free agent pool or maybe one trade or all the above Jerry will do something during the bye week, I'm sure of it...

I wish something would happen..I mean, we are like last in D...I figured they would be busy doing something...

Agree.....that's why I can no longer place this mess solely on Eberflus.....I've seen too much ......missed tackles, OL running our DL/DE over, poor coverage, etc......it can't be all on the DC. The current menu is frozen tv dinner with the microwave not working.

This scheme will not work without a complete overhaul. It's the wrong scheme.

Your players aren't suited for it. You don't have any above average pass rushers outside of Ezeiruaku, which makes it difficult on the banged up secondary who can't cover in the first place.

With all the injuries there, any decent coordinator would draw up blitzes and mix up the coverage.

Yet tweedle dum just keeps running the same scheme rushing 4 guys who can't rush the passer and putting pressure on a secondary that cannot cover, especially in zone.

Do the deed, Jerry.

Or you're a stubborn, old fool.

Yes sir, good Post . Eberflus was a Jerry hire before Schottenheimer was hired. I don’t think the scheme was on Jerry's mind in the least when the hire was made. As a result Dallas will be lucky to make the playoffs while fielding the # 1 offense in the league.

We are at 3 DC's in 3 years. That make it 4 in 4 years.

Considering the injuries, bad players and players that don't fit his system, I'm not sure what we can make of him yet.
Who cares how many it takes? There's no law of nature that forces teams to keep failed DC's for a certain amount of time. These are pro level players. They should be able to pick up any scheme quickly. If they can't then get rid of them.

Just stop hiring crap coaches with crap career results.

Spend the oil and gas money on the best DC out there. Pry him away from his current team with an offer he can't refuse, and nobody else can match.

If Jerry really wanted to win he would do this.

This There is no "Scheme" these players could make look like a real defense... you dont have NFL starters on defense..period.

you guys!!! so funny. more threads of, "lets do something to keep it mediocre"

I know you boys love your mediocrity, but tap the breaks somewhat.

Jerry already told us, it isnt happening, now does anyone whos followed the Cowboys for a long time, believe that? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO but heres the thing, i told you back in April, the seaosn is over and BS is not the HC. You not only have one man whos still in charge (i know there is a pact of you who wont believe it, 29 years and you still dont see it) but Jerry has told us and BS to his face "i make the deciisons around here"

So if something doesnt make sense to you, thats a you problem, because its 2 plus 2 equals 4 and if your teacher didnt like your answer, and you accepted that, than take realitys answer, 29 years of evidence and start accepting it.

If the guy was smart he will make changes like against the Commanders and see what happens…if he shows stubbornness to adapt he does need to be gone at the end of the season

It's not Everflus's problem. The roster sucks. He has next to nothing to work with. Overlay the carnival culture and NO coach will succeed here.

why? are the Cowboys winning anything?

why cant he find out who wants to be here, and adapt, and who wants to be gone?

Why cant a coach have a season?

No one was stunned by this revelation, he didnt surprise anyone, if the HC, GM and Owner, all the same person knew what was coming, why is anyone shocked?

IKR?
Weird. It's okay to admit they were wrong in the offseason of thinking these guys didnt suck.
Own it and move on.
These players suck.
Period.
Coach or scheme won't change their lack of ability.

Eberflus sucks too. His career results before Jerry hired him prove it.

Somehow Quinn was able to coach a top 10 defense under Jerry for three straight seasons. Then Zimmer took it to 31 in one season. The coach does matter.
