I think Garrett is the worst. Look at the talent campo had and the talent Garrett has.

i agree. campo at least had been coaching for 30 yrs before he got the gig. garrett, 5 yrs. i'm sure other coaches real love beating garrett. they see him as a product of corporate politics and favoritism...he didn't do the dirty work like most of these head coaches had to do for 2 decades before they are given an opportunity.

In no way am I defending Garrett.

Just because a coach puts in time, does not mean he can be a HC. Look at Marinelli, good position coach, but sucked at being a HC, and Phillips, good DC but not a good HC. Dallas needs a HC who has had success in the NFL before.

I think he the end of Garrett is near. Although, I don't see any way they get rid of him before the end of the year.

I really wanted to like Garrett but think it is best for both parties if he moves on. I do think there is a chance he eventually gets another gig in a stable organization where he can just be the head coach and find success. My hope for Garrett was he would be a young Shannahan type offensive Guru, but that has not been the case. With our crazy owner/GM and son, I think that type of guru is needed to help mask the areas the front office neglects or is unable to fill. Unfortunately, Garrett has proven not be very innovative. Not having a solid offensive line certainly limits him though.

So, I expect Garrett to be gone next year. Maybe we will have yet another defensive philosophy and I am sure some fans will celebrate these type of changes. Our Owner tends to change his mind on these things frequently. I just don't see bringing in another coach will matter much, unless the brain trust can uncover an all timer (and my confidence in that is between 0 and zilch). My biggest fear is Jerry looks for a guy like Mike Zimmer (classic number 2, not number 1 imo). And the obvious biggest concern for me is what happens when they need to replace Romo in the next 2-3 years. Does anyone thinks this front office can find the next stud QB, unless it falls in their lap? You think this team has been frustrating to watch now, just wait until they don't have a very good QB in place. Romo has certainly made his mistakes, but just wait until he is gone and this front office tries to find his replacement. The rest of the NFC East is a mess, but if I was a fan one of the other three teams in the East, I would be thrilled with the direction of the Cowboys for the future.

That offense was more Tony Sparano than Garrett. Although Garrett was OC, Sparano was the Assistant Head Coach and the running game coordinator. IMO once Sparano left, that offense started to look bad.

Yes, and Sparano has TO motioning and running crossing routes like we are cry out for Dez right now. There is no coincidence, motion and creativity were part of Sparano's regime in Dallas, not related to JG's stale implementation of this mess.

He'll totally get fired, the sad thing is it'll happen at the end of the year when he really deserved to get fired last season. Another year wasted.

It's all been a waste. He was brought in here in 2007 to be the coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry hired Wade because Garrett wasn't ready. He was the head coach in waiting and was in charge of the offense. I think we just wasted a lot of our core players years on an experiment that has failed. Garrett still isn't ready. Jerry should have hired a proven head coach after Parcells quit. A lot of wasted opportunities these last few years.

2nd worst coach in franchise history and I don't have him much higher than Campo honestly.

I think he's probably as good as Chan Gaily if not better. Nobody is close to Campo. And we've had a lot of good happen with Garrett. Just a complete disreguard for defensive commitment with him.

We need to stop talking up the talent here, we're starting guys off the streets on Sundays

Did Campo have a Romo or Dez caliber talent on his offense? We need to stop talking up the injuries and hold this clown accountable

Doesn't matter how good 2 or 3 of your top players are when the majority of your roster is well below NFL standards

Garrett is not as good as Chan Gailey. Chan won the NFC east in his first year and had the Cowboys in the playoffs twice. Garrett can not say that.

Gaily had Aikman and Emmitt and Irvin. Romo may be as good as Aikman. Nobody else on the roster compares to the rest of the talent on that offense or defense. And Gaily basically did nothing with it. We haven't had the talent the on the lines and defense for years and continue to neglect them.

Chan got fired after two straight mediocre records but with playoff appearances. Why? The Cowboys don't accept mediocrity. Garrett has 2 straight mediocre seasons with no playoff appearances and trending toward a 3rd but he's not fired. This time around were told we just have to trust the process. See the decline in standards?
