Hutchinson and the Vikings, who will be primarily represented by NFL Players Association attorneys, will contest that the clause is a valid one and is not an attempt to circumvent the collective bargaining agreement.

Hutchinson wanted it there.

Are you getting it yet?

This is the league vs. the union. Not Hutch vs. the Hawks. the union is very pro-guaranteed money. the league is against it.

Yeah, he's going to be real unhappy being the highest paid guard in the league.

dude, hutch didnt create the deal.
the vikes made the offer trying to prevent the seahags from matching.

long as he gets his 49 mill he wont care where.
most guys would prefer staying on a super bowl team to leaving for a non-playoff club.

hutch is gonna get paid which was his intent not making more than walter jones or getting 50 mil guaranteed which no team would do.

But the Seahawks were out-flanked by Hutchinson's agent, Tom Condon, who came up with the unique clause and the contract's language was approved by the NFL's special master. Basically, had Seattle matched Minnesota's deal, the Seahawks would have been forced to guarantee Hutchinson his entire $49 million contract. It was a maneuver that Condon, Hutchinson and the Vikings knew was financially impossible for Seattle to accomplish.
