You can have Bill Cowher after next year because he's taking next year off - and by then, he'll be itching to come back, and Dallas will be opening a new era (new stadium).

If I had my choice I would keep Garrett.

I really would like to get a Up and coming YOUNG coach that would be here a long time.

It would be a huge mistake to confuse "young" with "good" when it comes to head coaches.

Garrett's NFL resume is very unimpressive.

I know some people are down at the thought of Cowher, but with the attitude this team has on and off the field, he's not such a bad fit. He may have the temper of Parcells, but I dont remember him telling his players they sucked on his way out.

Exactly. With all the praise he's gotten, he hasnt really accomplished anything. He took a top 5 offense and kept it a top 5 offense and has only been an OC for a year. He's more hyped up than anything.

We aren't going to fire Wade, and who in their right mind would... He wasn't coaching his players, and Parcells built a defense that maybe 3-4, but used a totally different style player.

I'd rather give Wade at least 3 years then anybody else. Have you seen who San Diego drafted on defense when he was there? He has drafted some serious ballers... His defense makes the strides the 2nd year he coaches a team?

This guy isn't just a coach, he is a real talent evaluator.

Well he presided over one of the Cowboys best years ever on offense.

Yes his resume is limited...but as Jerry said he's a Wildcatter...he may take the chance.

Who's to say that Garrett won't be good?

0-4 in playoffs

Last team: 14-2 = one and done
This team: 13-3 = one and done

I dont like the pattern.

I really don't care one way or the other.

We need someone that can come in here and shore up this team's mental toughness and its ability to stay focus throughout a season.

I have my doubts that is Wade Phillips, but I am not certain it is Jason Garrett either.

This may be an issue of needing a player to fix it.

I don't think Wade is going anywhere either.

JJ has known for a while now that Garrett and Sparano have been interviewing, and that both candidates were likely to get offers.

Yet, he goes out of his way in his PC to say that Wade is staying.

I know nothing is a given with JJ, but I would actually be surprised if he fired Wade.

Who's to say that he will? The fact is, he doesnt have a deep resume that's anywhere near impressive.

What evidence do we have that he's all that magnificent at anything? His wonderful work with Harrington, Culpepper, and Lemon? His ability to take a top 5 offense and make it a top 5 offense? (Defenses were WAY down across the league this year. Historical comparisons are a bit moot because the numbers are skewed so badly this season.)

I just don't believe the hype.

I see your point...it's a gamble for sure.

But to me it sure would be nice to keep a young/GOOD[to be decided]:D coach around if we could.

When all the talk started about firing Wade to keep Garrett, when JG stated interviewing, I felt we should keep Phillips given his work in the regular season. But after the playoff, and his 0-4 record there, he might not get it done. Plus, losing both Garrett and Sparano isn't appealing to me.

I think Jerry will stick by Wade and I think Jerry is prepared for the possibility that Garrett could leave. I would not be surprised to see Jerry offer Jason a bigger contract but I don’t see him firing Phillips.

Im not so sure Id want a HC who knew his time was coming in a few years, yet made it a point to try to negotiate his way into an early spot(if that's the case) when he's proving as an OC this season alone, he's nowhere near ready to be a HC.

I think Garrett may very well be the most overrated coach in the history of the NFL. Did anyone else see what he was doing with the TOless offense and the December offensive meltdown?

The dude is Mike Martz, Jr.
