I don't want to give this Cowboys team any loses until I see an injury report after Training Camp and a Couple of Preseason games

Now here's something to talks about .... continue please.

For starters, this is a first game of the season. The Cowboys have a huge chip and and lot of pent up anger to vent.

San Francisco will be no where near fully functional and drawing upon smooth play from the previous season.

First jumps into the cast iron skillet often leaves a singe...

I'm not really in to making predictions, but I'd say it's a winnable game...far from a foregone conclusion that they lose. The Cowboys defense is a question mark, considering all the new faces; but that's not the same as knowing they can't compete. If enough players answer that question favorably, this team could be really good and I think SF is going to be a great determinant on what we really have on both sides of the ball.

I'm in the camp of
"SF is going to be a great determinant on what we really have on both sides of the ball"
even though it's opening day. I want a good, so-called power-house right out of the gate so that the Talking Heads can get their stories in a nice neat wrapper and serve it up to the Ditto Heads so they will be nice and full by Thanksgiving.

Lets break it down:
ST=us
QB=them
OL=us
DL=them
WR=us
RB=tie(if we make it to the first game healthy)
TE=us
LB=them
S =them
CB=us
coaching=them(at this point)
There you have it, it's a tie.;)
Except for the fact that Romo > Kaep. Soooo

I don't believe in the 9ers at all. I think they're a fraud. If Dallas doesn't turn the ball over and can be at least decent against the run, they could easily win by 10+.

I don't know about all the pent up anger. I thought they got shipped out. Maybe there are still some chips still laying around.:eek: Nevertheless, I'm so glad we have a team like SF to open up with.

This is a very tough match up. I've been very back and forth on this one.

For now I'm going to say I think we lose this game. I just don't like the match up of our linebackers or safeties on VD at all. That really concerns me in this match up.

When Rod Marinelli says that there is a lot that this team has to prove, and all the veteran players have said the same, don't worry, there is a lot of pent up anger that will be released on the field and in the locker room. I predict three fights in camp, from the start.

Trouble is, sometimes games like that can be misleading, as well. For instance, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Cowboys pull off a win against the SF to turn around and lose against someone everyone thinks they should beat. That's the nature of the NFL. We really won't know for certain what we have until well into the season. But still, we will have a better idea then than we do now.

I don't believe in Kap. I like Kap. But I like my QB's to pass more than they run. I like my QB's to be able to read defenses and adjust his offense and plays when necessary. I like my QB to be a chess player on the football field. But that's just me.

Did you know that dandelions can be used as a rubber substitute or even a coffee substitute. Or, they come in very handy in survival.

How about them Cowboys!

Oh, and the burn barrel bunch might appreciate knowing that it makes a palatable wine as well.

You can even make wine out of dandelions (but it tastes like crap lol)

I do also...but what they have, is working. And don't look now, but their receivers have been improved and are well.

That's why I mentioned Thanksgiving. That's when we can start giving a "state of the team" address. Opening day is all about adrenaline and surprises. Nobody knows nothing other than we're ready for some football.

(I need to get back to work .... why did he start this thread :eek: )

I am more concerned about game #2. The past few years we won game 1 and proceeded to crap the nest in game 2.

This is one area where Bill Parcells was strong. He prepared his teams to start out from the first whistle. Not to transition through the first couple of games. They met what challenged them, on a week by week standard.

That's true, but the last two years we've played at KC and at Seattle. In 2011, after we lost to the Jets we actually won in SF.

This team does have its problems getting up for games after getting a big win (kind of a league epidemic to be honest), but I don't think where in the season that happens matters.

I think we have a good chance, too. We're at home, we'll have a good crowd, and as much as anything I feel like SF is due for a down year. It's very difficult to win as much as they have the last three years and keep it all rolling.

Funny you mentioned the crowd. Most of the threads on here that are talking about the home crowds are almost always saying the fans at the stadium are awful, they sit on their hands & the Cowboys do not have a home field advantage really.

I only see what they show on tv but anyway that is what I thought about.

I think anyone that goes & spends that kind of money is a "good" fan btw.
