No, wrong. The game mechanics have been atrocious since they re-tooled the entire engine for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It was much better when it was on the PS2.

honestly I used to think that as well....i actually didnt play madden 08 because i had bought the ps3 and i felt madden was horrid on the next generation systems but i evenally got good at it and its miles ahead of the gameplay that the PS2 was able to produce.

This was the best Madden since the one with Ray Lewis on the front. Madden isn't a terrible game. Its just cool to hate on Madden because everyone else does. Don't buy the hype. Guys who hate on it still buy it because they don't have a choice.

On the PS2 you could throw bombs all day the defenders would rarely play the deep ball. Or throw the ball high and your guy would catch it everytime. There will always be problems with every game every year. Like Sickwitit said, you play the game, you learn the game and start winning. It becomes fun. If i didn’t have mouths to feed and bills to pay, i’d play 24/7. I love playing it online.

There hasn't been a good football game out since ESPN Football 2k5, which is still the most amazing presentation and replay value of any sports game (excluding EA's newer NHL series) I can remember.

Unfortunately, EA Sports Madden series got the license when there was already a better company making better NFL games. The license killed any competition for NFL gaming supremacy and thus allowed EA Sports to continually dish out trash games with no consequence. There is no doubt that companies such as 2K Sports would produce a better NFL product if given the opportunity. 2K Sports already took over the NBA supremacy with NBA 2K series which has been far superior to the EA Sports NBA Live series for years now.

It's not terrible. See, there's a bunch of different degrees of goodness and badness between Terrible and Flawless.

It's got its flaws for sure, but I can't think of another game I've played for an entire year.

The problem is that they never flush anything out. They bring online franchises back and botch it. They absolutely refuse to introduce anything innovative or even realistic to the franchise mode. They really need to just focus on one part of the game every year instead of coming out every year and promising better graphics and improved animations, when they really need to focus on the details.

Too bad you guys are just gonna buy it again because EA has the NFL's licensing rights till 2012.

Although, to those who're interested, there's a football game called Backbreaker coming out in may which is supposed utilize the Euphoria engine GTA 4 had which is the closest thing to realism a game has IMO.

Apparently every tackle is supposed to be different due to the engine it uses.

Can't even remember the last Madden I played.

I played a couple a while back just to get the easy *** achievements but in terms of "really" playing Madden, it's been ages.

Madden is garbage. Every year they have some new "innovative" feature that requires infinitely more button pushes to get the same crappy motions that were automatic the year prior.
