Pretty well put together trailer. Lots of scenes I recognize from the book (looks like they did a lot of it correctly). Noticed a few differences too.

Jeez. How many more years are we going to be subjected to Harry ****ing Potter?

BTW this kid must be rolling in the dough. Doesn't he make something like 50+ mil a movie?

this year, bob, & that's it because there's one more movie after this one & i think that one comes out in sometime in november, i think. i could be wrong on that.

as for daniel radcliffe(harry potter), i think he's made enough from these movies to where he never has to work again.

i'm hoping to see those last two in theaters with my husband if he's willing to do so which may be hard to do despite the fact that he's a harry potter fan(the movies not the books)

Bunch of geniuses these people are.

Printing money w/ these nonsensical kids movies

Actually they are very good movies.

Too bad you and Bob have to act too macho to enjoy them.

I heard this will be the best Harry Potter movie I will never see

You mean movies. Plural. I heard since this one is the last, and they aren't done raking in the movie they made the last movie really long and split it into two movies. So they could do a double taking of your movie at the box office.

This.

The Harry Potter series has done more in the past 13 years to encourage adolescent (and adult!) reading than any books in recent memory. The films are great adaptations of the book, despite some differences (theatrical license).

If you can't enjoy them for the pure entertainment value, there's really something wrong with you.

We went to the Midnight showing of Half Blood Prince. I don't ever want to do that again.

The books are very well written. I won't deny that. The movies have been very entertaining and as you said are good adaptations. But some people feel the need to rail against anything that they don't give a chance to. From this thread it sounds like because they rake in money?

Odd reason for fans of the most wealthy franchise in the NFL. Very odd.

Not at all. It's something that I thought I read about Radcliffe. Just kind of awed by it.

From you?

Didnt you say you have never watched an episode of the Simpsons and have never picked up a video game?

Im a curmudgeon about most kids entertainment. I see them watching this and its just a bunch of jargon.

Makes me miss the charm of TMNT, Toy Story, or some of the old school Nickelodeon shows

It's not even close to just a bunch of jargon. It's about bravery and camaraderie, facing fears, good versus evil and the bonds of friendship, amongst other things.

The whole wizardry aspect is just the basis for the story, but not really what it's about.

I just dont like stuff where theres all this stuff I have to keep up w/ in their pretend world. A whole set of magic rules that you need to know

This wizard can do this, but this one has a repel spell, and this one has the magic key to the Fire Temple.

On that level I think it taps into kids imagination

I have played video games, but I don't really enjoy them too much. I have never seen the Simpsons and most other TV shows as well. I watch sports. That is my thing. The last TV show I was really into was Lost, and I quit watching that in Season 2. Before that it was a show called Third Watch. I just am not a weekly episodic TV kind of guy. It has nothing really to do with the Simpsons. That just happened to be the show being discussed at the time.

My kids and wife were heavily into these books. I read the first book and it was good enough to keep reading. The movies are very good. It is as simple as that. My kids and I have had Harry Potter movie marathons where we get up early on a Saturday, stay in our pajamas all day, eat popcorn and pizza, and watch all of the movies. We have also enjoyed the hell out of it.

I doubt we could pull it off for 8 movies, but they are good memories for me of time spent with my kids.

If you don't enjoy them that's fine. Not everyone has to. I just think "they rake in money" is a strange reason to eschew them. I don't care what your reason is, it is yours and you are entitled to it.

I think you're afraid you might actually like them if you saw them. Just me playing psychiatrist to poke fun at you.
