Too bad you and Bob have to act too macho to enjoy them.
We went to the Midnight showing of Half Blood Prince. I don't ever want to do that again.kristie;3447093 said:i'm hoping to see those last two in theaters with my husband if he's willing to do so which may be hard to do despite the fact that he's a harry potter fan(the movies not the books)
The books are very well written. I won't deny that. The movies have been very entertaining and as you said are good adaptations. But some people feel the need to rail against anything that they don't give a chance to. From this thread it sounds like because they rake in money?Faerluna;3447181 said:This.
The Harry Potter series has done more in the past 13 years to encourage adolescent (and adult!) reading than any books in recent memory. The films are great adaptations of the book, despite some differences (theatrical license).
If you can't enjoy them for the pure entertainment value, there's really something wrong with you.

Odd reason for fans of the most wealthy franchise in the NFL. Very odd.

Faerluna;3447288 said:It's not even close to just a bunch of jargon. It's about bravery and camaraderie, facing fears, good versus evil and the bonds of friendship, amongst other things.
The whole wizardry aspect is just the basis for the story, but not really what it's about.

I have played video games, but I don't really enjoy them too much. I have never seen the Simpsons and most other TV shows as well. I watch sports. That is my thing. The last TV show I was really into was Lost, and I quit watching that in Season 2. Before that it was a show called Third Watch. I just am not a weekly episodic TV kind of guy. It has nothing really to do with the Simpsons. That just happened to be the show being discussed at the time.MarionBarberThe4th;3447280 said:From you?
Didnt you say you have never watched an episode of the Simpsons and have never picked up a video game?

Makes me miss the charm of TMNT, Toy Story, or some of the old school Nickelodeon shows
