This mock is going with the idea that Lynch goes #2 overall to CLE but Goff is available. The Rams, eyeing their new home in LA, decide to get the Cal star QB. This is the type of selection that can excite your fanbase and help fund that $2.6B that the Rams owner just pledged to LA.

Dallas trades #4 to LA
Rams trade #15, #43, #45 to Dallas.

---------------------------------------

Free Agency:

RG3 - $5M cap hit
Ngata - $5M cap hit
JPP - $6M cap hit
Mo Clai - $3M cap hit
Macky B - $2M cap hit
Dunbar - $2M cap hit
McClain - $4M cap hit

Create cap space by reworking Carrs contract, Restructure bonus's to Smith and Crawford.

---------------------------------------

Draft:

4 traded traded to rams

1.15 - E Elliot, RB OSU - With the top DL all going super early, this is the last true blue chip prospect. we snatch him up as he is a perfect fit for our team.

2.34 - J Smith, OLB ND - An injured LB with a 1st round grade being swooped up in the second? Sound familiar? Thats the Cowboys MO. History repeats.

2.43 - A Johnson, NT Penn State - A big fat guy to learn from Ngata on how to plug holes and eat small children.

2.45 - K Fuller, CB VT - What, ANOTHER injured 2nd rounder? Yup. Kyle from the Bears little brother. Had he not torn his meniscus, he would have gone in the first. This allows ua a cheap/easy way to move on from Carr after the season. This also moves Jones into FS permanently.

3.67 - C Hackenberg, QB PSU - Once highly touted, the noise around this prospect is dead. The physical tools are all there to mold. Can we revive him?

4.98 - B Miller, WR OSU - Converted QB, this guy has wheels. Showing some promise at the WR position this last season, this is the type of kid you make plays up for. He allows us to get creative on offense.

4.comp - S Oakman, DE Baylor - freakish body tied to a really good senior season. At 6'8, he will probably be to slow to ever play RDE, but he could learn the ropes at LDE and has the physical traits to be a starter.

-----------------------------------------------

Depth Chart:

QB: Romo, RG3, Hackenberg
RB: Elliot, McFadden, Dunbar
WR: Dez, Miller, Butler
WR: Williams, Beastly, Whitehead
TE: Witten, Escobar, Swain
LT: Smith
LG: Collins
C: Fredrick, Macky B
RG: Martin
RT: Free, Green

LE: Lawrence, Oakman, Russell
3t: Crawford, Irving
NT: Ngata, Johnson
RDE: JPP, Gregory

OLB: Lee, Smith
MLB: McClain, Wilson
SLB: Hitchens, Gachkar

LCB: Scandrick, Claiborne
FS: Jones,
SS: Wilcox, Church
RCB: Carr, Fuller

^^^^^ Obvi not a complete roster, would pick up some lower end FA's to fill in depth as well as our final drafts/UDFA selections.

trade chart goes out the window when a team is trading into the top 5 for a "franchise" QB.

Are there any facts to back this up outside of arguably the most stupid trade in NFL history (RG3)? Or is this just your opinion?

Show me a comp trade and Ill be happy to listen. I am just unaware of any off the top of my head.

Ah, you lost me with these from the get go.

I get it - most of you hate RG3. But the reality is that he is a very talented, young, individual who might just need a scenary change. Aside from that, he is coming in as a back up.

If you dont like JPP on a cheapish deal or Ngata around market value, Id love to hear why. Both are all pro caliber and will be (compared to recent deals) inexpensive.

just my opinion from what ive noticed, read and heard that the chart really just a reference, its somewhat out dated and that trades of this caliber do not follow the chart . .

It is not just Griffin. Why would we pay that kind of cash in free agency for that pair of DL?

Pierre-Paul is limited. And it is not like he is going to grow his fingers back.

And Ngata just looked beat up and old for the Lions.

I would take that kind of money and use it elsewhere, on younger players and ones with all of their digits.

The combo of both of them will be less than what we were scheduled to pay Hardy.

The price is factoring in their limitations. Had JPP had all his fingers, he would be getting a contract in the $10-15M/year range. This is like buying the can of beans that has a dent in it. Half off. He is still a playmaker and easily worth that amount.

Ngata looked beat up? I didnt see it that way. He had a really solid year for them. Even with that, he is more talented than anyone on our DL (albeit not as athletic at this age) and would be a great mentor.

JPP looked nothing like a playmaker after he came back. He had one sack in 8 games and couldn't wrap up RBs, missing a bunch of tackles.

Hackenberg strikes me as the quintessential JJ pick: bargain pickup of a player with "first-round talent and all the tools."

I don't think this team will bring in many older vet players as free agents they have been burned to many times for that. I just don't think they will be big players in free agency.

id want more than just the 15, 43 and 45 for the 4th overall.

But instead, we probably didn't even give them enough. It'd most likely take our 1st and 4th to get that deal.

Is Ngata still effective at this point in his career? If so I like that move.
Not sure the Boys would like JPP. Just seems like we'd say something like we like the young DEs we have and prefer to gain depth in the draft.

I like your draft though. I wouldn't draft a RB in the 1st but I understand your reasoning and if we had Elliott I'd be excited about it. Really love the DT pick.

Seems like every mock draft posted by fans has us taking Braxton Miller. Either there's a lot of Buckeye fans posting here or there's something I'm missing about the guy.

JPP for 6m? Not unless he gets a bionic hand. Dude had 1 sack this year. 1.
Ngata is on the downside and is just a space eater now. Not a 4-3 fit here.

1st pick at RB? Nope, Nope, Nope. And definitely not a guy who is driving with a suspended license and challenging play calls.

I'd support most of the rest in some fashion including the trade down if used on another position.
I have no real need to bump the league's 4th leading rusher to the pine and you resigned Dunbar as the slot/3rd down back.

Hackenberg is terrible and JJ doesn't draft.
He sits in in the room listening to who the top rated guy is while Stephen phones the pick in.
Jerry may well have never heard of Hackenberg.

Trading away a starting QB killed the deal from the jump
RG3 is a entitled injury waiting to happen head case
and a non leader .Talent is the base requirement
it just buys you a ticket to the dance
extending Carr's contact with one year left on it
with a under preforming player?
JPP has one club and a hand
