I'm gonna go the opposite direction. A JJ run left side for 74 yards and a touchdown, carrying linebackers and safeties the final 13 yards into the endzone. He will then celebrate by promptly walking off the field and never playing another down of professional football.

Just running and cutting isn't the only concern about TO. If he is tackled even remotely the wrong way, that could send him to the sidelines in a hurry. The safest way to avoid that is to connect with him on deep outs. If he can get past his man and keep going, that will be far better protection for his ankle then a slant down the middle.

I think he just has to play it safe. He can't fight through ankle tackles like he usually does, and he needs to get out of bounds and go down if he sees someone loading up to hit him.

But you're right, I'd bet you anything everyone that tackles or blocks the guy will go for that ankle.
