Did anybody catch the Dez segment on FT. What are your thoughts? Did SAS have a point?

What did he say?

And they're talking about the Cowboys?

Love 'em or hate 'em, you just can't stop talking about 'em. :)

are you talking about yesterday's segment when they basically said that dez deserved as much money, if not more than CJ?

that was pretty ridiculous, I had to turn it off halfway through. The CJ contract and the fitzgerald contract were mistakes. I think dez deserves to paid like an elite, somewhere in the 12-13 APY range, with ~30 million guaranteed, but CJ money is bordering on elite qb money and that's just mindboggling to me. (15 APY, 50 million guaranteed)

Agree. I like Dez and thinks he's great, but it's a team killer to tie that much money up in a position not called QB. Every year we see more and more WR's going in the 1st that contribute immediately. You don't need a superstar WR to win a SB.

We need to be paying Guys like Dez and Romo and Witten and Murrary... they are proven, home grown commodities...

Dez opens up a lot for this offense. He's young, plays hurt, is a leader and has a passion to win. PAY HIM.

I'm torn on this one. I love Dez but WR just isn't that valuable of a position. Especially for a Cap strapped team like the Cowboys.

Let's say Dez walks. What could you do with the money saved on Dez's huge contract? Could you get Cobb for 9 mil? Could you get somebody else to fill in the spot, albeit at a lesser production? Could you use the money to bolster the defense, which seems to be what a lot of folks are clamoring for? What would you do?

Our offense would be **** with a WR like Cobb. He won't open up things for anybody. Nobody will be rushing to double team him.

Cobb is a pretty good WR. What you could do is sign Cobb and try to work out a deal for Dez. Then take the picks (1st Rd) and use them on one of the WRs coming out this year. There are several pretty good WRs coming out this year. You would hate for Dez to move on but if he's set on more money, that's an option.

1. I don't watch the four-lettered network :espn:

2. I most definitely don't care what SAS and Skip have to say about America's Team or any player on that team.

3. JJ, please just pay Dez so we can stop talking about it.

Im right there with ya....

BUT there's this silly thing called a Salary Cap and that really screws with how much you can pay your "well deserved home grown players" you can keep

In fairness, the Lions did that with more than just Calvin Johnson. Suh, Johnson, and Stafford are all overpaid. Perhaps Johnson the least of which.

I didn't watch it. What was said? I'm I'm Canada I have to wait for it to be shown on youtube

In FT from NC campus Ed Werder reported that inside sources told him that The Cowboys are hesitant to give DEZ big money do to the fact their where some character issues this year privately. SAS said he is calling BS how come this is coming up now When it's time to pay Dez. he said someone in Cowboys office leaked it to Werder and what makes it worse is saying he has character issues so basically what they are doing is making other teams not want to touch home either.

franchise him for the next two years and then see how Romo is holding up after those 2 years, if Romo is done, they won't have anyone to throw to Dez

Well, whatever Screamin A says, it must be 100% true.

SAS is no fan of Dez
He just hates the cowboys and will say anything to put them down
