...the Cowboys beat the eventual Super Bowl Champs during the regular season.

last time was 1996 against the packers on MNF.

That's true. By default, we beat the Colts...

Therefore.........we're the champs!

The NFL has turned to such crap these days. Honestly, do you really feel you for certain you saw the best team in the NFC play the best team from the AFC? I think Dallas could beat either of them. And that's not saying all that much.

beating the super bowl champs during the regular season doesnt mean much, especially in todays NFL where anyone can beat anyone else on any given Sunday

but for example, were the lousy Rams "close" in 1992 because they beat us in Texas Stadium? were the dreadful Falcons "close" because they ebat us in 1993? what about the Skisn sweeping us in 1995?

Beat them when they were undefeated and Romo outplayed Manning.

I think Parcells really believed this team had a chance and that's why he said the Seattle loss was one of the two toughest losses of his career.

What's funny is that Dallas beat both superbowl participants that year by field goals only. 7 field goals to beat Green Bay, and 4field goals to beat New England.

Whoa, that is true. How 'bout dem Lions???? ;)

I personally like the fact that, in large part, any given team can win the Super Bowl every year. It's not like baseball where the same teams (Yanks, Red Sox, Cardinals) are basically in the playoffs every year.

Every fan, every season, has a chance to be optimistic. Well...maybe not Cardinals fans. :laugh2:

I agree with your isolated examples of teams like the Rams and Falcons, but this team was looking like a SB team at the Thanksgiving "pole" only to fade HORRIBLY in the frontstretch after Payton blew past us.

Really strange season for the Cowboys. I've never seen a team collapse that badly after one game. It was like Payton completely exposed us and our coaches and players completely lost confidence!

And the Detroit Lions beat the team that beat the eventual Super Bowl champs on the road.

I see your point, but I would not read to much into it.

I don't care what any of you say.

I will watch our win over the unbeaten Colts and dream of a title we could have had.

Yeah, I knew what he is saying that is why I said "I see your point". That is the way the NFL is now. No team is years and years away from being able to compete with any team in the NFL.
