Fish: Cowboys QB Change Behind Dak Prescott Means Exploring Top 7 Options

Also fish: start the rumors

It's a mistake. Howard is better . Can win with Ewers but he likes to run too much and that makes me Leary. Talented but not sure he can be the man . Howard was so clutch and had some moxy. I mean, if we take Ewers in rd 4 the. I can get behind him. But not with a premium pick.

Watch his combine. Not accurate at all.
Will Howard looks pretty accurate in these combine highlights...

But he did look very bad in these other ones......Doh.

As for Jaxson Dart, he looked very good at the combine...

But, I don't know what happened here...

Take a long shot FA flyer on Indiana'sKurtis Rourke
Nfl size
Grit....played 24 season on torn acl
Will be a rehab project

Jerry needs to look at the OSU QB. He's a winner. He might not have the biggest arm or the fastest 40 time but he's a gamer.

Difficult to get excited about Ewers. I don't think he's an NFL caliber QB- at least not a starter.

Hate to say it because I'm a U.T. fan!

Here is the dilemma.

Good athletic QB's tend to rely on their athletic ability too much. QB's that are not athletic, have to rely on their brain to be successful.

GM's see athletic QB's with the potential to develop their brain and get extremely excited - see Trance.

The problem/reality is that players rarely develop both. If and when they do 5 years later, their athletic ability has significantly diminished.

The sole reason QB's can play into their 40's has zero to do with their athletic ability. Athletic QB's is significantly overrated.

This is why Shanahan wanted to stay put and draft Mac Jones over Trance that Lynch so desperately wanted. Guess who just signed Mac Jones???
Ball always travels faster than the player.

A good “athletic” QB is one who uses his feet to extend plays.

Fish talking about the texas kid in rd 2. He is sniffing glue. Maybe in the 5th if no one is left.

Ewers is a Day 3 draft pick as far as talent goes. Mediocre arm. Can be accurate but he doesn’t have a lot of power with his arm.

One of the biggest mistakes we all make as fans is watching a player at a blue-blood program like Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, etc who looks great because he is completely surrounded by first round talent. At the very least that talent makes their job a lot easier.

I’m a Texas Tech fan who has watched a ton of Tech games in person over the years. Patrick Mahomes looked great against Texas and OU without a lot of talent around him. He never had a defense which is why he threw for 700 yards against OU but lost 66-59. Imagine scoring 50+ every week and losing?

Anyway be careful about falling in love with guys that look good on highlight reels but have four first round picks blocking for them.
Ewers is not an NFL quarterback. They'd better steer clear.

However, when you look at the first-round quarterback drafts of the past 10 years, it's absurd the number of complete busts. Teams get so desperate.

If they took Ewers late in the draft, I'd be fine with it, but not early.
