Glad we didn't make that trade.
I think we can compete with what we have now, provided we run the ball, Dak plays smart and mistake free and Hankins shores up the run defense.
I think we have the moxie to beat Philly.
And Jimmy G. gives us a chance against 49ers.
And Kirk Cousins is Kirk Cousins.
We good.

I sure hope that's not true.

If so, it's laughable. Gave away a 10X better WR who is younger and making nearly equal salary for a 5th round pick. The worst move in recent memory.
I’m guessing for this trade to go down it involved Houston buying out the contract the way Denver did Millers last year and Chicago Quinn’s to the Eagles this season. That’s what is meant by it getting to complicated. Otherwise it’s basic reasoning skills of (insert your favorite root vegetable) level “stoopid”! Even then, a premium pick for an unhappy Cooks at his current age and skillset is is a bit mind boggling Al Davis esq decision making!

The same second rounder we used to draft Marvin Wilson?

I believe the Cowboys were willing to give up the draft picks, but they were probably asking Houston to help with some of his salary. Cooks is on social media and is very angry at Houston for “lying” and “messing with my career.” That tells me he knows the Cowboys were ready to deal and Houston held it up.

I don’t believe Fish. The Cowboys would have to give Cooks a new contract for a second round pick and I can’t see them paying Gallup, Cooks and CeeDee. Does not make financial sense.

If true, I am glad this trade was not made. Cooks is not worth that compensation and 18M.

Sometimes the best trades are the ones you avoid. Asoumwa (CB from Raiders), Jamaal Adams, etc etc.

Dodged a bullet here. A 2nd rounder for a 29 year old on a huge contract would be nuts.

That’s a second round pick worth keeping . I think we win with the receivers now in the building . It means coaching who’s here KM . Gallup looked much better Sunday and I understand against that Bear secondary anyone likely to look good but he’s getting healthier hopefully Noah Brown is back vs GB as well as Washington .
I think the Bears has the 3rd rank pass defense, it's their rushing defense that is like 22nd or so

Cooks is also a salary issue, as in $18 million guaranteed next season.
The guaranteed is more of an issue for Houston, their the ones that have to eat all the dead money so that's why they want a good pick.

Cowboys if they had traded for him, it would have been 2.5 year contract for 34.5 million total with none of it guaranteed
That would of been a terrible trade on all fronts:draft capital plus his huge contract. Sign a Obj or Fuller to a team friendly 1yr deal instead
Agreed that it wasn't a great deal for either side but Houston would of eaten a large bulk of the contract (20 million they would have to pay in prorated bonuses ontop of the money already been paid for the first half of this year)

Minus Diggs. Who have they really hit on in the second round in the last decade? Sam Williams looks to be good. So that’s 2-8 not exactly a ringing endorsement of how the second round has gone for the cowboys. Bringing in a player like cooks who’s proven in the league for a second wouldn’t have been bad in my opinion

So if you’ve struggled in the second round… stop trying?

Wow, that is way too much. Coop at 20 million is worth a 5th, and Cooks at 18 is worth a 2nd??

Give me a break.

Still too much for a secondary receiver.
