Fish: Deion negotiating with Colorado

Almost 0% chance Jerry pays a buyout for Sanders. Jerry is too cheap.

I hope Deion turns Jerry down. Jerry needs to be treated as a pariah by all coaches that he wants to hire.
Isn't that getting ahead of ourselves? We don't know that Deion has been offered a job.

That's one more hurdle down...how many more do we have to jump before we begin the Zimmer reign?

ok so im not sue who remembers but when Colorado was on a hot winning streak at the begining of the year, Sheruders head was about to pop off from people pumping him up. Deion was back to prime time self, It was a clown show. Imagine being with the cowboys the most valued franchise in sports and they get off to a hot start say 6 - 0 could you imagine the circus that would be happening? I like Deion in Colorado, i live here now but him as the head of Americas team it will blow up eventually and i mean catastrophic explosion, especially IF he drafts his sons

Anyone that didn't see this coming failed to read between the lines on deions statement last night....all he's doing is using his connection to Dallas to drive up his leverage with Colorado, simple negotiation tactic
And Jerry was helping out his friend, and getting publicity in the process. Which is all he cares about.

Exactly right Jipper.....he can thank JJ though too. UC is bidding against themselves. Deion was never a serious candidate.

MOSTLY right lou...he cares about publicity for sure as long as MONEY follows closely. Can't stand him.

All of this is just for show anyways. Both Deion and Jerry know this won't happen but it's making huge headlines. They both love that.

Jerry is a cheapskate, you think he is going to pay Deion's buyout to bring him here? Nah.

I'm not sure why this story is blowing up everywhere just the whole Deion Sanders interest,

yes, Jerry Jones has a actual interest and he had the itch he called Deion he scratched it he wanted to find out where his head was about becoming a head coach for the Dallas Cowboys and how he would feel about leaving Colorado it was never a formal or serious interview process, but it really happened ,it was real, it wasn't about a circus, and Deion Sanders already said months ago that he was not interested in leaving college at this point that he has more work to do and he prefers teaching young players versus pro players he said it.

But of course everybody says Jerry's just doing this to get attention and now you're saying Deion listened only so he can use it as leverage for money none of this is true it'll work out that way because Deion Sanders probably is at least an up and coming coaching prospect for the NFL and other teams I'm sure have called it's not just Jerry ,he is a name that is going to be at least on some pre interview lists you know throw a phone call out see what sticks.
This is once again the fan base the media social media everyone getting ahold of the story that Jerry's interested in Dion and now we come up with all these theories there is no theories.....
This was simple of course it's attached to the Dallas Cowboys and people want to make it complicated Jerry was interested he made a call Sanders as he already said before he's flattered but he's not ready to leave college...
How is Cowboys will always be the biggest story on the planet they will always attach it to Jerry and create a circus that Jerry's not trying to create that's a fact now we can go back to the list everybody has for their own list that are more realistic..
Case closed
Deion to Dallas just feels more like a video game than it actually happening. I think the door is slightly cracked open, so wouldn't say never, but if you take Deion's words at face then he won't be coaching here.

]This isn't really saying anything ....." two sources close to the situation have SUGGESTED"
Hell, that could be me and you guessing.....
According to former Cowboys beat writer Jean Jacques Taylor who covered this team many years, about 90% of the time whenever we see the phrase “sources close to the situation”, it’s either Jerry or Stephen. They absolutely love to stir the media pot with rumors just to get in the news.

All those contract negotiation leaks about Cedee or Dak’s contracts were always coming from the Jones boys. It’s a silly if not unprofessional practice but it fits their MO.

The fact that they're working on a new deal means HE AIN'T LOCKED IN AT COLORADO.

If JJ wants him, all he needs to do is tempt him with money and unbelievable notoriety...and Deion may come.

I mean seriously, would you rather stay in cold *** Colorado and deal with the portal and college football (which won't be nearly as exciting for him without his sons), chasing an NCAA championship...or be in income-tax-free Texas coaching the highest valued franchise in football chasing a Superbowl? To me, if the money is right, Dallas is a no-brainer. And even if Deion fails in Dallas, it will be easier for him to move to coach another NFL team after coaching the Cowboys. Or he could move to a big-time college program like Harbaugh did by going to Michigan.

I know Deion's closest confidantes are in his ear saying, "Deion, wouldn't the absolute dream be to coach your sons IN THE NFL??? So go tell Jerry that if he's committed to bringing at least one of your sons here in the next 3 years, you'll come to Dallas." :)

Again, JJ + Deion is a match made in revenue generation heaven, for the NFL, the networks and the Cowboys.

No. I will hate that hire until the day he leaves. I didn't like him at Fla St and never will.

So what didn't you like about Prime from Fla St, to him becoming the greatest cornerback in NFL history to becoming a damn good coach?

What is it that you don't like about a person who's LOVED by many? I'm just curious....

I agree, but this is Dallas and all these stories get blown up and I'm OK if they do hire him literally if he gets the right offensive coordinator the right defensive coordinator and the right staff you know what Sam most of these head coaches jobs are to lead and after everything make sure they're delegating properly and have the right people under them...

Sanders is smart enough by the way he saw coaches that were way more successful way bigger personalities than him they had a great history in college like urban Myers petrino Chip Kelly Nick Saban just to name a few that could not make the transition and failed hard so you can't just jump out of something that been going well into something that you never know could end up slowing your career path down versus ascending, so they have to make sure you're ready before you move up...

So of course, they're blowing this out of proportion just like the Jason Witten rumors, which are not true he is not up for actual candidates for the head coaching....

we all know the truth, Jerry wants him on the staff in some capacity , so he can start headed in that direction, but he's got a lot of work to do before that happens and that is one of the things they discussed with Mike McCarthy apparently behind closed doors about possibly bringing him in on the offensive staff in some capacity..

which I'm on Jerry's side with this there's no way I was allowing Mike McCarthy back unless he made big changes on the offensive staff and did not call plays change the offense and I think that was a bigger sticking point than years you can try to sell me about the years and I'm telling you that's not the hang up Jerry wanted here he would have been here if all it was years Jerry would have just inked him and he didn't...
