Some love to brag that we have a top10 QB but the top 10 TE sucks! lol it’s time to move on from Schulz, he priced himself out of town and it happens. But he was a very good TE here. It’s just time to find that production cheaper so they can spend elsewhere! That’s just business!

It’s cheaper to pay him.

He played with a knee most of the season.

His stats were still good.

Schultz is a perfect example of a guy who will be paid much more than his value and the team who does so will regret it. He is more important to Dak than he would be to other teams. Good, but not great receiver that finds open spots as a complimentary option in the offense, but a poor blocker and you just can’t give a TE like him that much money in a cap world. He needs to go to a team that throws the ball all over the field to have anywhere near that kind of value and even still I don’t think so. This one is a hard pass for me at anywhere near that dollar amount.

Cheaper to pay Schulz 10 to 15 than roll with Ferguson, Hendershot and whoever comes in far less than that?

That’s the nature of football, moving on. Specially knowing when it’s time to do that.

Let him walk. If we upgrade the wide receiver position there will be plenty of soft spots and seams for Ferguson and Hendershot to find.

They need help at other spots . And please no drafting another TE. Schultz cannot block if you paid him a bonus right on the sideline .

Those that think Schultz is just average may be surprised. He's about to become one of the very highest paid TE's in the league. Just watch.

Maybe Ferguson can step right in and not miss a beat. Maybe not. I don't get the love for Hendershot. He's not on the same level.

This TE situation might be a rare example of management handling it correctly. If productive Schultz could have been retained for a reasonable figure, it avoids creating a hole in the roster, and allow draft picks to be used elsewhere. At what appears to be a very high market value, Schultz no longer makes sense for a team with younger players already on the roster, and a deep TE draft.

dude was offered top 5 money, he wanted more IMHO, hes not worth top 3 money, hes very good but not great nor elite but wants elite money? we are fine at TE with what i see as a player in Furgy being schultz now going into his 2nd year and just increase his snaps his productivity will be fine.

I have a feeling that the Cowboys will come away from the draft with an exceptional TE to their name. Lord knows, there is a bunch of them to pick from in that upcoming affair. We'll likely look back on what we had with Schultz as somebody we replaced, with yet more to look forward to. It's all good. I'm honestly expecting that we'll have three fine TEs to throw to and be happy with.

Wilson is slated to make around 5-6 mil/season. I think that'd be OK.
Man If thats the case, sign this man Jerry! He is a huge loss for the team if we let him walk. Many take him for granted. We spent time and resources drafting him and developing him, and for what? So he can go help another team? I hate it. Sign the guy already.

It’s negotiations like this one and Gregory’s you want Steven on your side. On ones where you actually want the player signed…not so much.

Schultz said no. He says at the combine there was no offer made. So it had to be recent. Foxsports saying Schultz willed up making 15mil ZAV
Did you watch Fish today? He said that they haven't made an offer to Schultz and they haven't made an offer to anybody.

Some of the fans mirror the organization. Who is Schultz to be asking for a King's ransom? When Jerry says or does the "we like our players" thing, he is ridiculed; but fans can be as ridiculous as they want without trepidation.

Fans dont make money off the nfl or the cowboys, jerry, his boy, the coaches, the players are all millionaires or billionaires.
Fans lose money too paying to see it and buying merch.
So IMO the fans can be as ridiculous as they want to be.
Jerry makes millions every year and is ridiculous as he wants to be . lol
Part of his job as GM is to not be ridiculous, but he is anyway.

Who is Schultz to be asking for a King's ransom?......he is a guy looking to get his first and only big contract! He sees others get
overpaid, so he wants to also.
Who was dak to ask for 40 mil and a no trade clause?
Elliot got a ridiculous deal.
So if Shultz wants to ask for too much or x amount he has that right.
