What if he were DeMarco Murray and a bag of chips? Some teams actually do get more bang for the buck out of their free agent pickups. Having been a number one draft choice a few years ago I'd say he isn't chopped liver. Some teams would rather pay for past production of free agents in McFadden's case Dallas too is willing to pay for past production or lack of gambling a little in order to possibly gain a lot. I wish him the best as long as he is wearing the star.

A few years ago?

Upon reading of the McFadden signing the first time, the Randle role came to mind. Not RB1.

I think there's something to the idea of Dallas dealing Joseph Randle (or cutting him outright) mostly because it seemed like Dallas really made sure that Ryan Williams stayed in Dallas.

I like Randle's upside but not if it comes w/ off-the-field crap that will keep him off the field.

IF Dallas can improve the defense, it likely also means they don't have to have a nearly 400carry RB. A 250-275carry starting RB + 75-100carry backup + ~25-50 carry #3 would work well too and keep guys healthy

We are hanging this man for stealing a bit of lingerie and perfume and allegedly breaking a window with his kung foo fists. :D

The idea that McFadden is a replacement for Randle is idiotic. Somebody who thinks he's as smart as Fisher thinks he is should know better. Randle is a STs stud. On a team going by a RB-by-committee approach, that is extremely valuable. McFadden ain't playing STs and Peterson sure isn't either. Randle isn't going anywhere.

What if it is what it is....a RB brought in to compete for any spot, rather to start or to be a back up or to split carries.
Rather it's McFadden, Randle, Williams, or AP or a draft pick.

Some people want to over think things and reach what they think is reading between the lines. Not everything has a hidden meaning or reasoning.
Why not look at it like an old newspaper, and not for the Twitter tech, and just read the black & white print.

I hope fans don't sleep on McFadden.

Not saying McFadden will duplicate Murray's 2014 season, but I fully expect him to have a nice year for us - depending on how many carries he gets. The talent is still there.

If it happens. I won't be surprised.

I'd get kicked off and sued by at least 8-15 different groups if I was given a twitter account within 3 days.
This is my only social media.

I can barely make heads or tails reading twits anyway.
I meant tweets. Written by twits.

Same with me.

90% of the time i cant decipher what people want to tell me thru twitter messages. And i have a feeling even they cant. Not to mention all those followers.

I for sure understand that using a "own" language for younger people is a way to find identity. I guess i am just too old and followed too many of those things that i am worn tired of it.

Not everything needs to be followed.

To me, McFadden's arrival signals a competitive battle between McFadden and possibly for either Randle or Dunbar for the distinction of being part of the RB committee. Neither Randle nor Dunbar have been crucial in contributing to the offense. McFadden offers blocking and receiving abilities in abundance. Yet another RB is likely to enter the picture via the draft. The competition for being awarded inclusion as a contributing RB shows promise of being an intriguing element of our preseason. It might very well even rival the defensive changes.

I don't know that it's about replacing Randle, but I've never for one minute thought they intended to give McFadden 300+ carries.

McFadden wasn't signed to replace Murray the Cowboys will be looking for his replacement in the draft. McFadden's contract is more than enough evidence the Cowboys aren't banking on him. They need some insurance with Murray gone and Randle's future up in the air. They have no intension of riding McFadden with his injury history.

Randall is going to be cut before training camp/after the draft.

Take your starting RB in the draft.

You don't want Peterson..want Hardy.

Tell me why. He was certainly better in 2014 than he was in 2013, which was awful. But he continues to be just average and now he's adding off the field baggage. Is it more about McFadden than him? If so, I get that I guess. Not impressed either.

I'll answer this one.

Randle is a young guy who was very productive in college at a major college program who we graded as a 3rd round talent coming out of college.

He has shown tremendous growth as a player during his time here. As a runner he showed patience, burst, power, agility and vision. He has shown himself to be a decent pass blocker when given a chance. He is an excellent special team player.

Finally he is still very cheap on a rookie 5th round deal and doesn't have much tread on his tires.

I think if given equal opportunity he will prove himself to be the best overall RB we presently have on the roster and should be a good part of a RB by committee. I really think we would have been much better off as a team in the playoffs last year if Randle was given more snaps and Murray was given more rest. It was almost comical how much better Randle looked when he was on the field at the end of the year compared to watching Murray plod along. The snaps were badly mismanaged because of the early string of 100-yard performances which I think influenced player utilization in an adverse manner.

My main questions about Randle are ball security and off-field stupidity. I hope he has gotten it out of his system because he looks like a RKG on the field.
