I've never caught a big trophy fish worth mentioning. I think the largest one I've ever caught was probably a twenty pound dolphin-fish. I do have two spear-fishing trips planned out later this summer and I hope I can bag a big fat grouper. If I do, I will post a picture of it! :D

It is disturbingly addicting. Not just the fishing, but viewing all the cool stuff! We throw out two ski ropes and my brother's wife slowly drags us behind the boat in roughly twenty ft of water. When you see a good spot or a nice fish that you have a chance to actually get close enough to take a shot at, then you pop your hand up in the air so she can spot you and then let go. Sometimes we just go and explore the reef or play with the sea turtles and sometimes we try to go after dinner.

A few seasons ago I grabbed what was about a twenty inch wide star fish from the ocean floor (I didn't even know they could get that big). I got my brother to snap a picture of me with it and emailed it to my son. For the next year, he kept bothering me about when I was going to take him to meet Patrick Star! I should have brought the darned thing in long enough for my son to see him, but I didn't have the smarts to know he would make that connection. :laugh2:

This year he is six, so I am strapping the life-vest and gear on him and teaching him how to snorkle (in the mangroves where it is calm). He is really pumped.

I SWEAR there's a "good fish story" that goes with this, but for the life of me, I haven't any CLUE what it is!

How long did it take you to get him in the boat? The one I caught in Cancun was a bit smaller than that but heck of a fight. Good tasting as well.

:laugh2: Yea, I "bought it" alright. 3 buddies and I chartered a 64' Hatteras Convertible for 14 days out of La Paz. Worth EVERY dime though, garrr-ann-tee!

About a hour at the most. We got really lucky and popped it on a short leader really near the boat, and that little skiff does most of the heavy lifting for ya.

I noticed in the pic your choice of beer. Myself I don't drink beer often but when I do I drink Dos Equis then again I'm the most Interesting Man in the World. :laugh2:

Where the hell was my invite man?

After I saved you from that rabid dog in Hong Kong that time in 1978.

Nice fish. Really a stunner.

I called man, really I did. You're wife said you couldn't go, something about a "couples shower"?

Sounded fishy to me (no pun intended), but I figured it had something to do with a little pill, 72 hours, and side-by-side bathtubs?
