In my humble opinion -- opinion that is usually applauded by the World Court and Richard Widmark -- here are five burning questions of the day. And the night. And that time when you know the alarm clock is gonna ring at any moment now.

1. When will Coach Garr ... I mean, Coach Phillips unleash Spencer? Is a whole season on the bench called for for this excellent athlete? Has he grasped the defense, such as it is?

2. Why would Jerra go out of his way last month telling all what great guys and athletes JJ and MB were? Why would he do that if he is not going keep that tandem? Or maybe he was hoping for a bite from some team on either or both and then go all out for ...gasp ... McFadden!!!

3. If Jason and Wade had a fight, who would win?

4. Is it our defensive scheme or is it the coaching that has long kept the 'Boys from harrassing the opposing QB much? Our QB pressure has, for the past several years, seem so close but yet so far.

5. Has Terry Glenn seen his last game as a Cowboy?

3. I think Jason already won with that new contract.

4. It's the defensive schematic. How much sense does it make to have Greg Ellis and DeMarcus Ware dropping back into coverage when they should be putting the QB on their ***. We saw a glimpse of this when Ellis was unleashed on Brady in week six.

5. I realllllllllllllllly hope not. :(

What season were you watching? He started the first 4 or 5 games of the season and played in every game. I don't see how he 'sat on the bench all year'.

None the less I expect he'll find himself with even more playing time, and packages, and be an even bigger impact.

2. Why would Jerra go out of his way last month telling all what great guys and athletes JJ and MB were? Why would he do that if he is not going keep that tandem? Or maybe he was hoping for a bite from some team on either or both and then go all out for ...gasp ... McFadden!!!

Is this just wild speculation on your part or do you actually believe this is a legit question?

Jones is gone unless he is willing to comeback for a very cheap price. Barber will be in Dallas and will be here for a long time. The rumor that Miami and Dallas are talking about the Miami #1 is so full of holes it could be swiss cheese.

3. If Jason and Wade had a fight, who would win?

*Rolls eyes*

4. Is it our defensive scheme or is it the coaching that has long kept the 'Boys from harrassing the opposing QB much? Our QB pressure has, for the past several years, seem so close but yet so far.

Yes 46 or 47 sacks this season says only two teams were better at being on the QB more. So much for being so far away.

5. Has Terry Glenn seen his last game as a Cowboy?

Probably. I like the guy, think he's been great for us, but I can easily see him not suiting up for the Boys ever again.

1. As far as QB pressures, I am speaking about the past severals years. Seems whatever numbers the defense posted on sacks, hurries, etc., many many times our players were within reaching distance of the QBs and he somehow eluded our defenders. Not talking about the time the defense succeeded but about times it did not. Had they done so, the sacks, hurries would be through the roof

3. And god help us if we burn a draft pick on Limas Sweed.

Thank you. And I'm starting to have second thoughts on Sweed myself, the more I research him.

I for one don't want to ever see Big Greg in the flats, he blew that tackle on Toomer that Henry gets all the blame for and continues to be a liability in coverage. More Spencer please...

Ya know, when you write things like that I recognize more and more what a genius you are.

Whatever Ellis' claim to fame has been, it's time to get Spencer playing. As in all the time. If we must extend the playing/whining life of Ellis, let's use him as a situational player only to pressure the QB, and nowhere near the flats as you put it. Ellis could still ring up good numbers with sacks and hurries. But again, as a situational player and not all the time. Another way to look it is that it will extend Ellis' career.

I think Spencer just needs a little more time to beaf up a little. When He first got in there I felt He was getting a little overpowered at times. He has the speed, and with a little time to train and get stronger He will be in there causing damage.

I think it's a combination of Coaching and players that make our Defensive Pass rush not so effective. But the defense is getting better. It would help if We had a 3rd corner and a safety that can cover like that the opposing qb just isnt droping back and unleashing to a wide open reciever...

Yes terry Glenn has seen it's last days as a cowboy...Good bye old pal.

Please don't use fad terms like <teamname> Nation. The term Nation belongs to the Raiders just like America's Team belongs to the Cowboys. Everyone else that uses those terms are just like the other teams fans that try to steal America's Team.

I think it is stupid to come down on a HC who has been with this team a whole 1 year, some of you need to ease up. This team did progress and while it was disappointing how it ended that does not take away from progress this team showed. God forbid Garrett get the job and given a whole 1 season before the complainers and whiners start calling for his head.

I think he has brought him along very well. Ellis has more to do with him not unleashing him as well but at the end of the season Spencer played so well that they couldn't keep him on the bench and him and Ellis was in the game at the same time.

2. Why would Jerra go out of his way last month telling all what great guys and athletes JJ and MB were? Why would he do that if he is not going keep that tandem? Or maybe he was hoping for a bite from some team on either or both and then go all out for ...gasp ... McFadden!!!
Smokescreen. JJ is out of here. I think Jerry wants to keep Barber but every time he watches Peterson play he feels this itch.

3. If Jason and Wade had a fight, who would win?
Wade! Leave no doubt.

As a previous poster said we had 46 sacks playing in a defensive scheme for the first time. In my book that is outstanding. How many will we have next year when we acquire a CB who can cover a lil longer and more time in the Phillips 34.

5. Has Terry Glenn seen his last game as a Cowboy?

If Jerry is a smart GM then this answer should be yes. This is a young mans game and its time to move on. Glenn had 2 knee surgeries at age 35. He will never be the same and he is holding a roster spot that should be fill by a young stud WR.

We couldn't get pressure with the 4-3 and the 3-4, with the exception of last year and Wade. It was definitely coaching. Considering Dallas went out and got Grantham, who is aggressive up-front, and the new LB coach who is also said to play aggressive ball, we are clearly seeing a move towards a more sack happy defense.

Also, Wade himself said he needed to find ways for Spencer to get on the field more. I just so happened that Greg Ellis was playing the run well, and was getting sacks. But Greg also faded in the end of the year. Spencer will see the field way more next year.

Despite not getting a lot of playing time, Anthony Spencer had a very good rookie season. Greg Ellis came back from his injury and played fabulous. Ellis could not be benched - and neither could Demarcus Ware. I did love the defensive overload formation when all three of them were on the field going after the quarterback.

Give Spencer some time. He will have an even better 2008 season.

Julius Jones has had more than ample chances to claim greatness as the starting running back for the Dallas Cowboys. However, he doesn't hit holes, and the first opponent almost always tackles him. It is time for him to go.

McFadden? Love to have him, but I think his price will be way too steep. It is better to stay where Dallas is and grab a corner with pick #22, and then Felix Jones with the #28 pick. A wide receiver can be selected in the later rounds.

Hey, the opponents are just getting the ball out quicker. Hard to sack the quarterback when that happens. I do want to see more press coverage, but the problem there lies on the fact that Henry and Newman were not fully healthy for most of the season. It was a tough dilemma for the defensive coaches, and Wade.

He is having another microfracture surgury, so I would not expect him back. With Owens and Crayton starting, along with a reliable Sam Hurd, Dallas ranked near the top in passing offense. Another receiver would be nice, but why not check and see what Dallas currently has in Stanbeck?

I don't think wide receiver is much of an issue this offseason.

6. When will the FCC and FB revoke your broadcast license?

:lmao2:

Dear Zero: Good news. Not only has the FCC granted me lifetime access to the airwaves, we are now expanding to 100,000 watts of unerring, uniquivocal, universal and regional-situational antennae power.
Our expansions will include new newsroom facilities, bigger transmitters and a break room. Also, an adjoining building for welding and truck-hitch classes here in Farmers Branch.
Things look good. We will need more manpower. If you have a daughter or sister who wants to be an intern, send me their proportions, um, resumes post haste. I will teach them to be silver-tongued announcers!
Best wishes to you, loyal fan.
We'll dedicate our first 100,000-watt broadcast day to you!!!
:)
And, now, Zero, please stand for our National Anthem before we conclude our broadcast day.

COULD NOT AGREE MORE. McFadden is good, but our secondary needs should come first. I could live with Jones if we stay at 28.

Being a new york homie and all, you probably have never heard of the Sooner Nation?

Or the Cherokee Nation?

Or the Nation of Islam?

Or Carrie Nations?

Or the United Nations . . . well ok, you have heard of that one.

Your fixation on the Raiders is endearing but old man Davis has not copyrighted that, or has he??????????
