I"m sure he does most rookies do. but do yourself a favor don't pay attention to anything Mclame says he's a vince young lover you know.

Actually I'm good friends with McClain and went up to Baylor for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame inductions earlier this year where he introduced me to all the inductees including Ray Childress and Michael Irvin. John is pretty much up on what is going on.

Yeah Ray is that. He told me he married a girl from UT went to Texas A&M and played for both the Oilers and Cowboys where his idol Randy White played. Life has been good to Ray. :laugh2: I have to say though out of all the speeches that night Spike Dykes was the best and had people rolling in the aisles.

As for Young he is still a young QB who is learning so I would not close the book on VY just yet but no doubt he has to refine his passing game if he is to live up to his 1st rd selection status

There from Houston. What do people from Houston know about football? :laugh2:
Excuse me? I am not sure you will find many Texans fans saying 30 carries a game.... I mean maybe a single fan or two, but we all have those. Cmon now. What we do know is that Warrick Dunn (who is a smaller than Slaton) performed VERY well under Alex Gibbs (who we just hired) in Atlanta and definitely shouldered most of the load. Meaning its a possibility for Slaton here, but more than likely we get a main prototypical back this coming offseason and Slaton will be our anytime TD threat out of the backfield to compliment. Houston is in Texas, and Texas is football country.

No doubt he could turn into a every down back but for your guys sake I hope you don't put him in that position.

If he does, it will probably only be for this season. Meaning Green, Brown are both hurt and Chris Taylor is underperforming. So yeah, not a great situation... but tis better to have him than to not.

I'm waiting to see what Mr. Reeves does with his time in the spotlight. Maybe he'll shrink from a grape into a little raisin.

The hope is he performs better in a man system. Kinda the opposite with Pac Man in your zone system as I gathered from Hard Knocks. Longshot I am sure, and we def. probably overpaid... but this new regime is making more good moves than bad in the first couple of years so we will see. Odds are after D. Rob comes back he could be the 4th best cornerback at the end of the year if Antwan Molden comes on with all that talent (first round pick skills) he has and will obviously be behind Fred Bennett who was solid last year as a rook. 4th best CB for the money he got really doesnt make a whole lot of sense right now. Dude better improve while we wait on Dunta to get back.

4. Barber brothers reunite:

Texans free safety Dominique Barber will get his first chance to play against his brother, Cowboys running back Marion Barber III, at the professional level.

Dominique was selected by the Texans in the sixth round of the 2008 draft and hasn’t shared the field with his brother since the two played at the University of Minnesota. This week, the rookie hasn’t been able to hide his excitement.

“The fact that you’re at the highest level of football and to be able to be on the field at the same time as my brother, I’d be speechless,” Dominique said. “It would be a dream come true, but I’d just go out there and play football.”

The brother talks every day, if even just to check in with each other. But their close relationship won’t keep Dominique from laying a huge hit on his Pro Bowl brother.

“It would be cool, but our relationship that we have, it’s not about who beats up who,” Dominique said. “He was never the type of guy to beat me up as the older brother. But if I could get a nice little lick on him, that would be nice.

“I’m sure if I get out there and he’s out there then we’ll exchange some words. But my mind is on helping the team and finding a way to get a ‘W.’ That’s the main goal.”
I just have a gut feeling it will be the other way around.
