I admittedly don't follow College ball that often so I don't know who will be available around our picks but is there anyone worthy of one of our first round picks we could take? We need so much help on defense (edge, linebacker, corner) but the safety position has been awful for so long. Id love to see it fixed for the long term if the value is there. Anyone out there in the early rounds you guys would like to see here next season??

Caleb Downs is one of the best 3 prospects in the draft IMO but I do not think he will be available.

It is actually a decent class but it feels like a bunch of 2/3 rounders and we dont have those picks.

The kid from Oregon is intriguing to me.

Odds of Downs getting drafted in the top 5 are very low, but the top 10 is more likely but not a slam dunk.

IMO if we lose week 18, we may have Downs available to us. If we win ago to ~18, he'll be gone.

Definitely see him in that top 16 draft range, picks 11-16.

He’s top 12 at the latest , Downs . Win or not against the Giants Downs won’t end up in Dallas . Basically both safeties need to be replaced . Alijah Clark should be given a shot next season but corner / safety in Dallas is a five alarm fire .

Downs is consistently top 5 talent pretty much everywhere I see; and especially this year since the class at the top is weak

Very LIKELY he goes top 10 and certainly top 15

none of those mentioned were as highly regarded coming out of college as Downs is

You look at SB winning defenses and they are have if not a great FS they have at the very least a very good one
we have not had anyone worth a warm bucket of spit since Woddy

I do like the class this year, but we so many holes, safety might be more of a luxury type of pick. Can easily sign a veteran starter at a low cost to at least settle the position down and prevent those blown coverages.

Unfortunately the sweet spot for safeties are rounds 2 and 3. Would have to more than likely sign or trade for a guy

I expect us to trade back with one our first round picks.

Jalen Thompson of the Cardinals is a FA coming up the Cowboys should look into him , total upgrade . The likelihood of the draft helping this position slim.

Remembering where Branch went gives me some hope we can get Downs later in round 1 than the top 10 because I don't feel they're that far off as prospects (I think Branch's 40 time hurt him a lot though).

With all the talent at S (I like Ramsey USC and Thienemen out of Oregon quite a bit as well) and LB it would be nice to move down and net another pick. I think you have a very good chance to get an impact player at those positions day 2.

H will not make it outside of the top 10.

I would prefer a veteran safety but that would mean NGM and Jr actually spending the money to get a quality FA there

It would be nice to have a 2nd/3rd round pick.

Depends on teams’ needs and who they already have at S - we just might get lucky like we did when Lamb fell.
