FL | Jared Allen talking with five teams
Tue, 18 Mar 2014 11:16:59 -0700
Free-agent DE Jared Allen (Vikings) has been talking with five teams, although he's only visited with the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks. The Denver Broncos were interested in Allen before they signed DE DeMarcus Ware, and it's believed that Allen "turned down" a three-year, $30 million offer from the Broncos. However, Allen's agent, Ken Harris, said the offer from Denver was never official.

good, let him go, hes not going to make a difference on many teams that will get them to the next level. Players and fans have to realize this.

Nobody in Allen's position turns down 3/$30M from a contender.

he didnt. when a contender offers it, he ll probably jump on it.

This was before they signed Ware. That offer was a placeholder, and I believe DEN wanted to see if Ware would shake loose, first.

im just saying Denver isnt a contender. Sorry but its true, and everyone should have looked real hard at that SB. Im no fan of JOhn Fox or Jack Del Rio, and they went out and proved me right.

I would take that Super Bowl as an off game for them. It was the worst time of the year to have an off game, but give Seattle a lot of credit too. They had Denver's number.

Remember this was the same Denver coaching staff that won a playoff spot and won playoff games with Tebow as QB. I'm not a huge John Fox fan myself, but I would take him over our existing coaching regime. Denver at this point is more of a contender than we are.

Really wish we move on from Jared Allen.... I for one hopes he doesn't sign with the Cowboys and goes elsewhere.

I am pretty sure the "deal on the table" for Allen from Denver was debunked as false. Saw it somewhere. And again, Rapoport.

So you saying a team that just played in the Superbowl is not a Superbowl contender?

im saying when your best isnt good enough, than that tells you what you need to know. That SB was over befire it began because Denver never played or planned for a D that good. IT wasnt exotic, it wasnt complex, it was just well coached players who did their jobs and had hustle. Kudos for Seattle going simple but effective and bad for Denver to not go after what they had to. Even Seattle players and informed people said Denver just had to play a route or two and it would cause havoc for Seattle, but Denver never got rolling and Seattle stepped on the accelerator. It happens, but if that was the best you were, and for Denver its the best they have been in a long time, it just wasnt good enough. Now they know they are going to have to change things up, and i can assure like Dallas and Dallas fans are goign to realize, the NFL is not going to sit idly by and not get better, (certain teams). So next year is going to be harder for Denver.

So are they contenders right now for the SB im not thinking of them as leading the pack.

When you are hands Down the best team in either conference, that means you are a contender

Sounds like it will come down to Seattle or Dallas

the score backed that up.

Your argument is really poor.. Is Seattle guaranteed to make It back?

What if Denver plays a different team?

So I guess nobody else in the afc is a contender to win the afc. .I mean Denver trounced NE and SD..

So there's no need to watch. .. Denver is guaranteed to make the super bowl. .. and they are guaranteed to get crushed..

Sound reasoning

if Seatle stays teh course, yes they should be considered contenders. Will it be easier than the AFC, thats going to depend on SF who is good but not good enough to beat Seattle. Sorry if it depresses you, but if i had to say who has the better chance, definetly Seattle over denver.

and as for Denver beating SD? Who? When was SD ever relevant?

New England wont lay down. the chiefs are 50/50.

What about Indy? Wouldnt they have a good shot, Pittsburgh? You have some teams on the AFC that make getting to the top hard, but not in the season. Denver knows SD wont throw up a fight, most likely the Raiders are going to roll over. Is Miami going to shoot to the top? Jacksonville? the Browns? Jets? Most of these teams are going to sit down and let the season play out. That doesnt mean they are instant contenders, just means they got through the season.

Allen seems a fit here.

He's a hard core hick. Hunts. Drives a pickup. Has mullet.

He is involved in charities. The sort that get guys on this board all choked up.

He named his daughter something stupid. So he and Romo will be fast friends.

Connect the dots people

if denver doesnt have a chance..how the hell can you say any of these other teams have a better chance?

Denver just destroyed NE...how is NE going to get through Den to even make it to the SB...

How do you explain when a team gets destroyed in one meeting and then comes back and beats the same team in the same season? according to you, its not possible...bc if denver meets sea again, they cant win...so why can other teams do it?
