Flacco agrees to a new contract and will sign it Monday.

The rumors say he will get $19.5 million annual salary and $60 million guaranteed.

If true, what does that make Romo worth?

less than flacco money!

This makes me laugh. Watch how badly Flacco stinks it up from here on out. What timing on his part. Avg QB that had a commendable playoffs and was at the right place and right time.

flacco has always shown great poise.he outplayed brady in the title game in 2011, and he's always played his best when it mattered most, can you say the same about #9?

anyway, just because the ravens overpaid flacco, that doesn't mean we have to overpay this guy we have at quarterback.

I just read one Ravens fan who posted on another forum that we will see the real Flacco now and soon he will be mentioned in the same breath as Drew Brees. Other Ravens fans were quick to agree. :lmao2:

Brees is a far better QB than Flacco.

As is Romo.

As is Brady, Roth, Rodgers, Peyton and maybe Eli.

I would think that Romo is good for between 17-18m and about 45-50m guaranteed.

Jalen Rose commenting on the new Flacco deal and the amount of $$$ said, "now I guess we can call him elite."

when you look at how comparatively average Flacco is during the season; and Romo's career stats, you are probably pretty close.

It will be interesting to see what the real contract numbers are, as compared to what is being report now.

Quite often what's reported early isn't what the reality is.

Now that Flacco's deal is done and dusted, I can see Romo getting his extension pretty soon.

I see no reason, what so ever, why Romo should give the Cowboys any sort of break. We won't give him a break once he gets too old. It's business.

Flacco is younger and has a ring. He's certainly not the better player but you have to give him more money with him holding those big cards. He did have great playoff run while he was flossing his teeth under lack of pressure....120 mil it is! Seriously, Flacco finally came up big and he seems to be improving, so lock him up.
Romo gets 5 years and 80

Can't believe Flacco in now the benchmark QB of the NFL.

Packers have been getting away with railroad robbery paying Aaron Rodgers $9m/year or so for the past 3 years. His contract is coming up -- his contract will be the mother of all NFL contracts and it will put Flacco's to shame -- my guess is $22-24m a year.

Rodgers is getting near 10.6 a year. Still pretty cheap compared to most above avg starters getting 14-16 a year.

So Rodgers makes about the same as Brandon Carr... except Carr's contract is mostly guaranteed.... :)

Here's a quote from a Ravens fan on another forum replying to a poster who said Flacco was not elite:

Yep and a guy who's been in the playoffs all five of his seasons in the NFL...and if not for drops by Evans last year and Boldin the year before could've played in three SBs. Non elite 2nd tier sounds like a sour grapes.

Ravens fans think Flacco is Johnny Unitas reincarnated.
